drank Banofee by A Quarter to Tea

Sipdown 110-2021
I can’t believe I haven’t written a note on this yet. I’ve been hoarding my last cup’s worth because I loved it so much. Unfortunately, this is another victim of age. The banana and toffee flavors that I loved have faded into something vaguely sugary.

Much like the last cup, the pineapple is undetectable. Still a nice smoky black tea, but a good reminder to not hoard teas I love. Drink them fresh!

It’s so hard not to!

Shae- Don’t I know it! I try my best, but my fear of running out of teas I love (particularly discontinued ones) make it so hard not to hoard.

I love a 52Teas blackberry blend and I love a 52Teas genmaicha blend, so this tea really worked for me. Goodbye, tea.

This cup was particularly creamy, and the blackberry was nice and strong.

Drinking a random matcha genmaicha teabag that came in a Japanese snack subscription box I’ve been getting. It’s actually a really nice genmaicha. No bitterness, just smooth and toasty.

drank Lychee Kris Grey by ETTE TEA

Working through all of the kind Ette samples shared by Dustin. This one really intrigued me, as I love lychee. Once brewed, the lychee scent is really prominent. The lychee flavor, however, is much more subdued. I’m mainly tasting bergamot, with just a hint of lychee. Glad I was able to try it!

I’m continuously shocked by how syrupy sweet and thick the mouthfeel of this tea is. It really tastes and feels like dried fruits steeped in honey. This last cup smells particularly raisiny as well.

It seems the mint has become a bit less aggressive, and I can taste more of the pistachio. Adding a bit fo honey also helps to enhance the pistachio flavor.

This blend was soooo good!

I agree, as mint fades there is certainly more pistachio. Adding honey seems like an interesting idea to boost the nut flavour!

I love a marshmallow tea, and this is one of my favorite varieties. I think I may have another bag of this in my back stash, but for now I’m counting it as a sipdown.

Tastes like chai. I’m mostly tasting ginger and clove. I wish the cayenne or vanilla were more prominent to set this apart a bit more.
