1800 Tasting Notes
After having a delicious matcha genmaicha a few weeks ago, I decided to order a few different genmaicha varieties from Harney & Sons. This is the first of the 3 I tried. Coldbrewed for a few hours (3? 4?). It’s quite tasty, but very genmai forward. It has a bit of a seaweed flavor and the matcha is quite mild.

Goodbye tea. I really love this combo of flavors, it’s so unique. Orange blossom, jasmine, and cardamom. I’m sad to see it go, and really savoring this last cup.
I love banana teas, but I’m not really loving this one. The banana fragrance is much more pleasing than the banana flavor. It’s a bit too mild for me. I’m not really getting any cake flavor either. This cup was also strangely savory, and had a cooked vegetable flavor going on.
I bought a ton of this when it was originally released, and finally decided to take a bit out to enjoy. Made it as an iced latte, which was my preferred way of enjoying it when I first purchased it. I still really love it, but there’s almost a Double Bubble gum thing going on. It’s that super sweet powdery bubblegum flavor.
I love this tea, but I rarely drink it because it’s just so finicky. Since I’ve been drinking mostly cold brews over the last few days and I really enjoy this iced, I figured it would be a good time to revisit it. Unfortunately, I cold brewed it for a mere 2 hours, and it still came out incredibly bitter. So bitter. Once I get through this tin, I probably won’t repurchase because it’s such a hassle to prepare it.
