1800 Tasting Notes
My first tasting note in quite a few days. Between the insanely hot weather and super busy work schedule, I just haven’t really been drinking tea. I’m looking forward to the weather getting cooler and getting back into my 5-10 cups/day.
As for the tea- it’s absolutely delicious! Really loving the smoky base against the sweet caramelized flavor going on. Not really getting cinnamon or butter, but I’m not missing those flavors, as what is happening is delicious.
Flavors: Caramel, Smoke, Sweet
Really enjoying this! The blueberry leans fresh and natural, rather than blueberry candy. Luckily, the hibiscus doesn’t overwhelm and make the brew overly tart, but rather balances the palm sugar. Not really getting any maple or pancake flavor (which makes me laugh, because this is one of Deb’s few blends that doesn’t have maple sugar). More of a blueberry muffin.
I was really expecting to dislike this, but I was pleasantly surprised. Luckily I can’t really taste the rooibos, and the coffee is balanced nicely with the vanilla and cocoa powder. This is definitely a blend that benefits from Deb;s heavy hand with coconut and maple, as those flavor also lend a sweet creaminess here.
Probably not something I would buy, but I’ll certainly finish my sample packet.
This is definitely an interesting take on a candy apple. It’s more of a red hot apple. I guess some candy apples have cinnamon in the sugar coating? It’s also very much a green apple. So, if cinnamon covered green apples are your thing, you’ll probably love this tea.
Oh…oh my….This smells absolutely incredible. Like a freshly caramelized creme brûlée. It tastes just as good- rich, creamy caramel flavor combined with the natural caramelized notes of the hojicha make such a good cup. I’d imagine this would be delicious as an adffogato (which is generally where my mind goes with really good hojichas).
Flavors: Burnt Sugar, Caramel, Molasses
This is another of my all time favourite 52teas blends. I am SO happy to have it back.
