1789 Tasting Notes
I took a 2oz bag if this to work, and made it in straight in water instead of in milk on the stove for the first time. Not a fan. The white chocolate just becomes oily, and the peppermint is flat and thin. This one really needs the milk to bring everything together.
This tea has turned in an odd way. Both the dry leaf and the brewed tea are smelling a bit…footy? Like a berry foot. My cat jumped on the table as I was brewing this and I actually asked her why she smelled so bad…and then I realized it was the tea (yes, I did apologize to my cat). It still tastes decent, but the smell is so off.
Flatulent cat, or bad tea? Hmm…
I remember making this one grapefruit/citrus fruit tea sampler that, to me, smelled dead on for sticky feet. I could not with that tea.
Enjoying a small cup of this with the last piece of Harvest pie for breakfast. Goodbye favorite pie, see you next year. The cinnamon, ginger, and smoke work really well, and I’m getting a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor in the finish that is so.tasty.
It’s from Coco’s- layers of pumpkin pie, pumpkin chiffon, and whipped cream. The ultimate pumpkin pie IMO.
Black Friday. Yeesh. I work retail, so I always dread Black Friday…especially a 6am shift. Many, many cups of this got me through the day. I still love it. Smoke and burnt sugar and wonderfulness. I actually think I’ve grown to like Golden Arrow a bit more than this (which I was going to stock up on, but it’s completely sold out on the AU site sigh).
Huh…that is strange. It’s not showing on my feed either. shakes fist at all of the Steepster glitches
This is really hitting the spot today. The sweetness of the apple and maple, and the earthiness of the turmeric are working so well with the mix of green teas. Quite comforting and cozy.
Feeling very thankful for many things today. I hope everyone has a peaceful day.
Yeah, when I see names like this or Detox or some other suggestion of a wellness tea, I tend to ignore it. Sometimes they can actually end up being good but I just don’t like when companies try to market teas in that way.
Agreed. It feels like a marketing gimmick, and is quite a turnoff.
ha, I’m drinking B&B’s version of this tea right now too (also a sample), and I’m also thinking “never wanted to try this because of the name” — used to be called “skinny minnie” or something…
Mhmm! I’m hesitant to try this tea because of the name. But I am glad you enjoyed it. I might check this one out. I thought it would be very herbal-tasting based on the name alone, not a self-care blend. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
