1800 Tasting Notes
Advent from Dustin Day 11
Another new to me brand and blend. I’d actually never heard of Curtis, so I’m even more excited to brew this up. Also…Banana Flambe?? Sounds incredible.
The dry leaf doesn’t have much of a scent, but once the water hits it, I’m blasted with a burst of banana deliciousness.
Absolutely incredible! A mild, malty flavor in the black base. Tastes like a fresh banana drizzled in caramel. Would be delicious with a bit of cream/milk.
Flavors: Caramel, Malt
It’s so weird how it does that! It does not smell interesting at all until you steep it! It’s the first/only Curtis tea I’ve tried as well.
Courtney- No smokiness at all in my opinion.
Dustin- It was such a pleasant surprise!
Martin- Ooh good to know! I’m definitely interested in trying more of their blends.
This sounds SO good. I’m gonna have to order some to try. (: I wonder how their other teas are the grape one has good reviews as well.
Advent from Dustin Day 10
Another Lupicia blend! I’m very thankful for being able to try all of these blends that would’ve been either difficult/impossible for me to attain otherwise. Thank you, Dustin!
This smells like strawberry and lychee gummy candies. Tastes like them too. It’s sticky sweet, and absolutely delicious. I love that it’s on a black base, as lychee blends rarely are (at least in my experience). Another blend I would gladly repurchase if I had the chance.
Flavors: Candy, Lychee, Strawberry
Kusmi Advent Day 9
I’ve been very much in a mint tea mood, and always enjoy a flavored green tea…so this was a welcome sight this morning. In particular, it was nice to have a break from all of the rooibos/honeybush blends.
The green base is smooth and lacks any bitterness. It is slightly vegetal. Mostly a fresh, cooling spearmint.
I’m obsessed.with.this.tea.
I’ve been searching for my perfect pineapple tea for awhile and nothing has been quite right.
Th pu’er is earthy, but not fishy. The pineapple tastes like Dole pineapple juice. The combination of earth and fresh juicy pineapple just really works. The pineapple sprinkles are also so cute. Will definitely be getting this in a larger size. juj
Plum Deluxe Advent Day 9
This is quite similar to the Vista Blend Plum Deluxe carries, but without the lavender. I prefer that one much more, as the lavender really sets it apart and works so well with the apricot. This is fine, though. Apricot. Honeybush. Pretty straightforward.

Very excited to open this selection this morning as it has been on my tea wishlist for awhile! I was also craving a black tea, so this was absolutely perfect.
The base is malty and has a bit of a chocolate note, which is wonderful with the caramel/vanilla flavoring. I’d imagine this would be excellent with a bit of cream.
Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate, Malt, Vanilla
Kusmi Advent Day 8
I watched today’s Tea Vlogmas video by Jann of Tea with Jann and it looks like I got the correct tea today! Or we both have the wrong tea…
Not a rooibos fan, but I love vanilla. Tastes pretty much as expected- rooibos and a soft vanilla. Pretty straightforward, but I don’t dislike it as much as I thought I would. The rooibos isn’t fighting with any other flavors, so it’s not distracting.
I actually received this as a sample with my order and had brewed it for my landlord while she was over helping us with a repair. She absolutely loved it and I purchased a tin for her. Not my thing, but glad it’s appreciated.
This blend is so freaking cute. I love the little crowns, as well as the inspiration for the blend. Another fandom blend I had to try.
This definitely smells and tastes likes almonds. It’s described as being a rose macaroon, with just the right amount of cardamom. I can only taste almond, which is perfectly tasty. Hoping to try steeping with different parameters to try to find some of the cardamom and rose.
I purchased from a few new-to-me brands on Black Friday, with Happy Turtle being one of them. I love fandom/themed tea blends, and Happy Turtle has no shortage of them. They also offer sample sizes, which is a necessity for me at this point in my tea tasting journey. Received my order super quickly, with 3 samples included! The packages of tea also feature art related to the fandom the tea is associated with. Really impressed so far!
This blend intrigued me because of the addition of bourbon infused sugar, which I’ve never seen in a tea blend before.
Brewed up, this smells quite chocolatey and nutty. Like a hazelnut brownie. Tastes absolutely delicious- the bourbon is mild and works well with the hazelnut and almonds.
As it cools, I’m starting to smell more of the almond.
Would absolutely recommend this blend, and this brand!
Flavors: Almond, Burnt Sugar, Caramel, Chocolate, Hazelnut, Nutty, Whiskey

This looks like a great company and the shipping cost is very reasonable! Might have to place an order in 2021.
Sounds like they definitely are from this page: https://happyturtletea.com/about-us/
