1800 Tasting Notes
Mmmmmm…down to one more cup in this bag. Luckily I have one more bag after this, but I hope it gets restocked soon. It’s so comforting and cozy, which has been great because the combination of all of the work in my classes and prepping for job interviews (yay!) is kicking my butt.
Sipdown 76-2021
I’ve been neglecting my tea of the last week or so. There’s just been so much going on. I’ve been searching for another job for about a year (transitioning into a sole focus in Human Resources), and have had the absolute worst luck. I’m also starting graduate school next week (yay!), which has taken a lot of preparation and planning.
On top of the work/school stuff, my foster cat was diagnosed with FIP. Up until the last couple years, FIP had a 100% fatality rate. Luckily, there’s been some excellent research done, and there is an underground d treatment available with a very high success rate. Unfortunately though, the treatment requires daily subcutaneous injections for 3 months minimum. Learning to give my poor cat injections has been quite an ordeal.
Anyway, I haven’t been drinking as much tea as I normally would. But, I’m finally getting back to some sip downs.
Added some cashew milk and a bit of honey to this and it was the best cup yet.
It’s so much when everything happens at once, but hopefully your cat will feel better soon, and best of luck on grad school and finding a new job soon!
Congrats on starting Graduate School! I hope your cat gets better soon caring for sick animals is tough. <3
I’m sorry you and your cat have to go through that! Congrats and good luck with grad school and finding a new job.
I live alone and have yet to figure out a way to give my cat medicine by myself (I can’t ever get her mouth open! failure ) I actually wonder if I’d have an easier time with an injection… Hope kitty does well with the treatment!
Once the vet gave me actual “cat treat” pain supplements for her, and she would actually spit them out!
The only thing I’ve had success with is a mollasses/tuna “gel” that she likes so much, I just have to smear the gel on the back of my hand and she’ll lick it clean. If only all types of medicine came in that form…
Thanks, everyone! Things will get better, just a bump in the road.
Mastress Alita- If you haven’t tried them yet, the Churu lickable cat treats work wonders for disguising pills, and cats go absolutely insane for them.
I couldn’t resist Lupicia’s sakura release, as I haven’t tried any of the collection before. This has a bit of a brininess, but also a lovely soft floral flavor that is complimented by the black base nicely.
Ya, I love sakura stuff, but Lupicia’s sakura teas aren’t for me. The salt used to preserve the leaves (that “briny” taste) really turns me off.
I so wanted to love this, but it’s just not good. I sadly can’t taste any violet. It’s just a very chalky, artificial chocolate flavor.
