This is another reblend from the January box. It’s no longer a Shou Mei, but I thought it made sense to keep everything on the same listing. This is one I had been wanting to try for a very long time, and was ecstatic to see it make a reappearance. It’s exactly as I hoped, and by far the best grapefruit tea I’ve ever had. I love grapefruit, but there always tends to be an unpleasant acridness that is so synonymous with grapefruit. The brown sugar really balances out the natural bitterness of the grapefruit, and the overall mouthfeel is so smooth and velvety.

Enjoyed this as an oat milk latte with a shot of DavidsTea’s Candy Cane Matcha. The little milk frother I got for Christmas really changed the latte game for me. Super smooth and creamy, with a beautiful minty coolness. Even though the matcha is pretty sweet, it’s not cloying.

I love my handful milk frother. I’ve gone through at least 5 of them over the years. It really does take your lattes to the next level.

I was craving something decadent last night and this really fit the bill. It ended up being a really good cup, but I’ve found this blend really varies cup to cup. This one ended up being very cinnamon/graham cracker heavy, and I got little chocolate flavor.

Received my 52Teas January box today, and I’m so excited to try all of the blends! There are a couple that have been on my wishlist. This one really tastes just as the name describes. Very distinctly raspberry, with some nuttiness, and a crumbly cookie flavor. Super tasty!

Flavors: Almond, Cookie, Raspberry, Wheat

Boiling 8 min or more

I’ve been putting off tasting this for the last 6 months because I was worried I would love it and I wouldn’t be able to get it again. Tea logic. I saw it was available on the Bird and Blend VIP website again, so finally decided to brew up a cup. Yeesh! Thankfully I have August Uncommon’s Black Metallic as a lovely violet tea to indulge in, because this is not what I was hoping for. It’s just straight hibiscus with a whisper of violet. Not sure why the hibiscus was necessary in this blend, but it kind of ruined it for me.

Flavors: Hibiscus, Sour

Definitely agree with you!

I’m glad I didn’t read reviews of this tea before I purchased a sample of it, as it seems pretty hated across the board. Cardamom and tobacco were extremely intriguing, and I get absolutely none of either. This is definitely charcoal level smoke, and extremely medicinal. Quite a strange blend, but I don’t entirely hate it.

No bitterness or astringency to be found. Smooth, creamy, malty goodness. Has a distinctly raisin flavor. Almost like a chocolate raisin bread (is that a thing people eat?).

Flavors: Brown Sugar, Chocolate, Dried Fruit, Raisins

It SHOULD be a thing… or chocolate dried cranberry bread. whoa.

Oh my. That sounds delightful!

This is an interesting one! The anise smell was extremely strong, and continued to be prominent when it was first brewed. As the cup cooled, the anise settled, and I was left with a cup of smooth malted chocolate. Really nice nighttime tea!

Very, very chocolatey in smell and flavor. But, there is an extremely bitter aftertaste, and a dry mouthfeel that are not pleasant.

Though, I’ll taste anything once!

I mainly brew western style.I like my tea extremely strong, so I tend to use wayyyyy more dry leaf than suggested.
