Advent Day 22

A perfectly nice smoky black tea. Another welcome break from the fruity blue blends.

Advent Day 21

Was also slightly annoyed when I saw blue in the name, but was pleasantly surprised to see no blue upon steeping. This is just a flavored milk oolong, with the milk flavoring very present and intense. I enjoy milk oolongs, so this was a welcome break from the fruity blue blends.

Advent Day 8

Catching up on some advent tasting notes. This would probably be much better iced, but it’s actually nice hot as well. It’s a very fresh, green tasting oolong, with mild notes of lime and cucumber.

Advent Day 17

This is actually not only one of my favorite Brutaliteas blends, but one of my all-time favorite teas. Another blend that they reformulated, and this is my first time trying the new version. It’s actually a slight improvement (luckily)! The smokiness is a bit more muted, with more of the marshmallow flavor coming through.

I remember I drank this. I remember nothing about it. It wasn’t bad, I’m just so over these “In love” blends.

Advent Day 15

I am quite behind of my MF advent blends. I ended up giving this to my boyfriend after having a few sips and he quite enjoyed it. I’m just…kind of done with this same flavor profile over and over.

Creamy coconut custard. Need to revisit this.

I’m going to need to try this one again, as I’m having a hard time remembering specific flavors. But, I remember it being sweet and fruity, and slightly nutty. Really tasty and festive.

Yummmmmm. This is so good! Smells absolutely divine and tastes like you would imagine based on the name. There is the bright tangerine up front, followed by a marshmallow creaminess. I love that it’s on a black base.

Well…this weekend turned out quite different than planned. My boyfriend and I were set to leave to visit his mom for a week. The first time since I started working that I could take Christmas off. We were renting a house on the beach, and I was very much looking forward to it.

Cue COVID exposure at work. Boyfriend’s mom is immunocompromised, so we couldn’t risk exposing her to something. Had to cancel the trip. We both got negative results back, but I’m feeling sick. Boo COVID. We are both vaccinated and boosted.

So, I am still taking the week off of work and planning on drinking lots of tea.

This pone is particularly delicious. Bready, malty, caramelized. Smells like cacao powder.
