1796 Tasting Notes
After the disappointing cup of Banana Bread Chai that I had this morning, I decided to venture back into banana territory for the second cup of the day. This one is much more pleasant! The banana flavor is present, with some toffee notes as well. Very rich and decadent.
Flavors: Caramel, Toffee
Sipdown. Thank you to Shae for sharing this with me. I love it, and I’m so sad it’s gone. I’ve been saving one cup worth until I could really savor it. I had my 3.5hour HR Management class last night, and I figured it would be a good time to enjoy my last cup. Such a wonderful chai- fluffy marshmallow, and a perfect blend of spices.
I’ve tried Adagio a couple times over the last 5 years, and finally stopped about a year ago (with the exception of picking up Brigadoon breakfast) because I disliked almost everything I tried. But, I’m on the hunt for tasty fall teas, and I’m a sucker for vintage Halloween imagery…which took me to the collection that this was a part of. I was intrigued by the hojicha/pumpkin flavoring/spice combination, so decided to try 6 custom Halloween blends.
This is the first one I brewed up…and I actually love it! The spice component is pretty minimal, and the focus is more on the roasted squash quality that comes with the hojicha+toasted mate+pumpkin flavoring. The only thing that would have made it perfect is real pumpkin pieces.
Bleggggggg. Someone kindly gifted this to me, but it’s awful. Couldn’t get past one sip.
When my family moved into a new house when I was 12, there was a weird boiled water faucet that the previous owners of the house had installed. This tea tastes exactly like that weird boiled water tasted.
You got tea-sad day apparently. I wish you good other days :)
I ended up having some great cups later in the day, so it was a good tea day!
