1796 Tasting Notes
I’ve been craving a cup of this, but didn’t have any on hand. Luckily, it came in the new holiday sampler I just picked up and I brewed up a cup this morning. Definitely increasing my score, as it’s just so tasty! I know a lot of people put themselves either in the Santa’s Secret or CCC campy, but why can’t I be in both?
Flavors: Dark Chocolate, Peppermint, Vanilla
Made another big pot of this to sip throughout the day, but it’s nearly gone already. Steeped directly in oat milk. So creamy and delicious.

I’ve never steeped this directly into oat milk, but I did have the other day a nice hot DT s’mores latte (concentrated 4 ps with water then mixed with hot foamy oat milk) with oat milk as the latte part which was very nice.
I just ran out of oat milk… sigh.
I need to try oat milk again… Anyone have a favorite brand?
Oat milk is the best! I love Planet Oat and Oatly.
Earth’s Own is really good. :) I totally do a "DIY “Oatly” for the most part now!
I love oat milk, but it’s so much more expensive than almond at the store, so I always end up going with almond, which has too distracting of a flavor to use in tea ):
I had quite an interesting day yesterday. Kevin Smith has been my idol since I was 14 years old. So… for quite a long time. He means so much to me, and despite seeing him live a couple dozen times, I had never had the chance to meet him. Fast-forward to yesterday: I’m ago work, and it’s quite slow…and Kevin Smith walks by. I was absolutely paralyzed by shock. He disappeared. I lost my chance. An hour later, he walks by again! I ended up getting up enough courage to say hello. I started choking up [embarrassing], but I was able to tell him how important he is to me, and we had a nice little chat. Honestly, I’m still quite shocked that it happened, but very very thankful.
As for the tea, I had left this at work and it seemed like a perfect option to celebrate the joyous happening, and to settle my nerves. I’ll be sad when this one is gone.
How awesome that you got to meet your idol! I’m glad to hear that it turned out good for you, that he took the time to have a chat with you.

Chocolate teas are so hit or miss, and I appreciate that 52Teas chocolate blends never taste like synthetic chocolate. I love the candy bar inspiration here, and there is a bit of a nuttiness that works well with the chocolate.
Yup….I’m trying another rooibos. I’ve been interested in this tea for quite awhile, but never purchased it because I knew I couldn’t commit to more than 1 serving of a rooibos. Luckily, this came as a sample in a recent Bird and Blend order.
As for the tea- the rooibos flavor is pretty strong, which is unfortunate because I’m liking the creaminess and the tart rhubarb flavor. This would be absolutely excellent on a green base.
I dislike rooibos, but I still try them anyway. Especially when they’re in my 52Teas subscription. Unfortunately for me, the rooibos flavor is strong here. It’s pretty much rooibos and…bananas? It tastes like bananas, not apple or caramel.
How’s the roses on this one.. the ingredients sound nice but I do not like floral.
The rose is pretty strong, so if you’re not a floral fan, I wouldn’t recommend this.
