drank Big Apple by DAVIDsTEA

Thank you to Lovelylotus for the sample! This is amazing! White teas are usually not something I drink very often, but this tea has a very good chance of becoming part of my summer collection! It has every quality an apple tea should- it’s refreshing, juicy, with just a bit of tartness to finish off the sip. I am tasting some soft vanilla notes, too. I am in love. Too bad I put too much honey in this to where I can’t taste the apple anymore. Grr. Ah well. Next time I drink this I’m going to try it iced!

I’ve been wanting to try this tea for awhile, and finally got to in a tea swap. I’ve got to say, I’m really liking this one- it tastes like a tropical vacation in a cup! (and if you can’t travel anytime soon, this might be the next best option!). The dry leaf scent is absolutely divine- fresh, juicy pineapple and a little nudge of apricot with a smooth oolong base. The flavor consists primarily of bold splashes of pineapple, with mild floral notes rounding it out. I can just barely detect the apricot, but I’m okay with that. This is a lighter tea, so I probably wouldn’t drink it in the winter, but I could totally see it happening in the warmer months. Thanks Lovelylotus for providing me with a sample!

I am generally not a fan of any type of floral flavors. However, I decided to give it a go and this tea caught me off guard. I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that I did, in fact, enjoy it. There really isn’t very much to elaborate on about the smell/ taste of this, as the rose element REALLY dominates, and barely any green tea can be detected. Overall, I like this tea. It’s definitely NOT a favorite, but I could see myself drinking it every once in a great while. (probably in the summer months, as it is a lighter floral/ perfume-y tea, and I prefer my heavier teas in the winter) I would love to see how this tastes iced, and if that changes anything.

Thank you to Lovelylotus for the sample of this! I’ve just come down with a case of the sniffles and a sore throat, so today I have absolutely no plans other than to sit curled up on my recliner with some good tea and my laptop. It is Friday, after all!

The dry leaves of this smell tangy and sweet, kind of the same way powdered lemonade does. I brewed the leaves for 5 minutes and now have a lovely salmon-y colored cup of tea. Taste wise, I can definitely detect the raspberries and lemon. That part is yummy. I don’t necessarily like the fact that stevia was added to this- I really don’t feel like it improves anything, kind of gives it an odd taste. I have a little bit leftover, so I might try it iced and see if things improve.

I’ve been trying to drink a bunch of my teas to make room for some that I have coming in the mail, so tonight I tried out Organic Green Dragon. It had a lot of earthy, nutty tones, absolutely nothing overpowering or begging for attention, though. This definitely qualifies as a quiet, wallflower type of tea. A suitable choice if you don’t want to be too distracted or overwhelmed by flavors. While I would rather have this than no tea at all, I have certainly drunk many other cups superior to this.

Pumpkin flavored anything gets me excited when it’s fall time. I grabbed this on a whim, but didn’t notice it was a rooibos blend until I got home. I would have preferred a black tea base, but ah well. Rooibos isn’t THAT horrible.

So. The tea. Hm. Um, where is the pumpkin?!? I can’t taste it. Rooibos? Check. Warm, delicious spices? Mhhmm. But pumpkin? Nada. I think Harney and Sons needs to rename this or figure out a way to help the pumpkin flavoring to stand out more. Nevertheless, it’s a nice tea. Not my favorite, but I’m sure I’ll finish off the box…. eventually.

I popped into my local tea shop for a quick cup of something hot, even though the temperatures were skyrocketing into the 80’s already. After much deliberation between the black coconut tea and the green coconut, I decided to go with the latter. It was a good choice, and I am already scheming ways to obtain more for my stash. The tea was buttery, vegetal, and very coconut-y. Mmmm. A perfect summer treat.

drank Earl Grey Creme by Teavana

Found this in the back of my cupboard today and decided to have a cup. I don’t remember this tasting as good. Either it’s been too long since having earl grey tea period, or all the milk and sugar I added is significantly improving the quality. Tasty for sure, but I’m thinking the remainder of my bag will go towards some Earl Grey Infused Scones, instead of a straight cup.

This is a really fascinating tea. I found it stashed in the bottom of my mother’s tea drawer and decided to give it a go. The dry leaves smell like a peppery amaretto, not what I was expecting. Taste wise, I can detect lots of cinnamon with notes of ginger. There is also just a small hint of apple and a mild, woody flavor from the rooibos base. I don’t think I would purchase this on a regular basis, but I do find it tasty enough to where I might indulge in a small sample or even a to go cup.

drank Pom Tango by DAVIDsTEA

I didn’t have many expectations for this tea, I figured, hey, it’s a black fruit tea. Nothing amazing right? Thankfully my assumptions proved to be in error, because this tea really surprised me in a good way! The second I opened the bag my nose was bombarded with a tidal wave of juicy, lush mango. OH oh oh. So intoxicating!

Upon the first sip (after steeping for about 5 minutes) all I could taste is the mango. Bright, tropical, lush mango. I was anticipating some pomegranate but, nope. However, I decided that was perfectly fine, after all, because who can resist mango?!?

I finished about 1/4 of the cup while it still was hot, then stuck it in the fridge because having a cold jar of tea sounded so enticing and refreshing. And it was! Sweet, icy, with pops of fruity mango. Almost as good as the actual fruit.

And then, a few minutes into my glass of iced tea, I noticed I had a little bit of raspberry wine in a bottle left over from a girl’s night the weekend prior. Raspberry and mango? Why the heck not? Into the mason jar went the wine. Wow. Things just went from really good to really, really great. This is a win-win all around. Hot, iced, or mixed with another beverage, Pom Tango pretty much rocks. I seriously cannot think of one good reason anyone shouldn’t buy this tea.

I can’t use chopsticks. My favorite smells are lemongrass and fresh coffee. If I were to die of something fatal, it would probably be caffeine poisoning. Reading, photography, traveling, and cooking are just a few activities I enjoy. I am a native of Krasnoyarsk, but grew up in Alaska.

I enjoy most types of teas, but am partial to flavored black and green varieties specifically.
