151 Tasting Notes
This is not half bad. I’m not a huge fan of artificial vanilla things (I had a bad vanilla vodka hangover once). But the vanilla in this is light enough that the tea comes through quite prominently. I guess I steeped it for quite some time to achieve this.
Preparation
It’s pouring rain here today, so I figured it would be a good chance to try some of the samples that scribbles sent me. I made this one hot, and it smells so yummy.. it really makes me want a cinnamon raisin cookie, it tastes just like them!. I must say though, I do prefer monkeybread to this one :)
mmmmm I love this one.. much, much, better than lime gelato from davids tea.. I find it doesn’t have that creamy, almost curdled taste, that mixes with the pungent green… this one is creamy tasting, but the rooibos enhances it rather than battles it.. I don’t know why companies insist on making lime teas that are greens… this is so much better.. definitely hit the mark :)
Preparation
I don’t know about this one.. they list mango as an ingredient, but I was like whatevs, it didn’t look like there was even any, so I drank it…. nothing happened.. I was right on that, not a big enough quantity to do anything. I am not a fan of this tea though, that’s for sure. It is far too fake sweet.. it doesn’t even taste like lemonade lol… or tea for that matter… it kind of tastes like i’m drinking straight up stevia…. nasty.
I liked this one.. I found it a bit peppery for my liking so I added a couple of drops of vanilla agave… its wonderful.. its like a christmasy treat, but much much lighter! …. thanks scribbles
if you found this one spicy i would recommend staying away from american tea room’s oriental beauty. it is clever, but heavily peppered. =0)
I’ll admit, i’m pleasantly surprised. I have been very dissatisfied with Davids teas this summer, due to the large amount of mango in them. I was going to chapter’s today for some new reads, and it was hot out.. and I got sunburned.. this store had a tiny bit left.. enough for an iced cup and a small 25g bag… i’m sad that was all they had (although, I think the freshness is what really makes this sencha outstanding) because it is wonderful! .. its a nice green, steeps up almost a lime colour, which was surprising.. and tastes very buttery and pure… now that I’ve had this good experience, I think i’m going to try the next ‘from garden to cup’ that is launched!
YUM! thanks lovelylotus for sending me this in a great tea swap. I don’t normally buy any bagged tea, I like looseleaf, I like the ability to control exactly how much I am using, and how it will turn out. I find bagged tea quite unpredictable. However, I have found a way to make it work for me and it is something i’ve been doing quite frequently lately. I have started cold steeping it. Cold steeping takes longer, so it makes it way less oversteeped. I I like this blend because to me it tastes like mango, without actually containing it. I am very allergic to mango so this is a good thing! .. I have indulged in many mango flavoured things that don’t normally have it in it but have found them to taste very artificial (and I don’t even know what a real mango tastes like).. this one to me doesn’t.. and the green tea in it compliments it very well!
YUM! This was a suprising treat! I went home to Ontario and one of my first objectives was to go to tealish. I studied the tea menu before I went and knew this was one I definitely wanted to smell, and taste!. As the girl brought the canister down and let me smell it, another customer was like omg that smells so good, I have to get it too. I ended up with 100g of this and 100g of the orange marzipan (my fave).. Unfortunately I was going to a concert so I didn’t want to carry loads of tea, so I didn’t get anything else. I will definitely be buying way more from this company as there hasn’t been a tea that has disapointed me there yet! This one is wonderful.. it is like regular early grey, kind of smoky, musky, and almost reminiscant of a good cigar.. layered with citrus, which enhances the flavour, and makes it quite distinctive. Usually people layer earl grey with berry, but doing it with grapefruit is so unique, and a wonderful taste :)
