drank Mom's Apple Pie by DAVIDsTEA

Oh how I wanted to love this tea. I had been looking for something that was full of apples to work as a hot cider sort of drink. There was something very artificial about this one for me. Right from the time I opened the tin something seemed a little a miss – perhaps a little like strong apples with a finish of musty cardboard. My husband and daughter really liked it and didn’t get the unpleasant artificial after taste that I did. It did smell promising but just wasn’t quite for me – this was the first time I’d ever had a David’s tea that had this strange aftertaste.

I didn’t get the “creamsicle” taste that everyone is raving about – I wish I did. I really wanted to like this tea but I just got a sour floral taste with it. I’ll try it iced next time but it just didn’t make it onto my favourites list.

It was exactly what I expected. Lovely Japanese restaurant style green tea. I loved the brown rice and popcorn and had been looking for something like this to add to my cupboard. It reminded me of when I worked in a Japanese restaurant in high school. You can never go wrong with this style of tea in the evening. My daughter loved it so much she actually at the steeped tea leaves, brown rice and popcorn – whatever floats your boat I guess.

Yucky…I really wanted to like this. The promise of pear was so enticing. The aroma was ok but on the first sip I could help but think I was sipping from our compost bin.

I’ve received a few samples of this tea. I simply don’t rave about it in the same way as everyone else. I liked it…i tried it after finishing off a very nice oolong by Ten Ren so I think perhaps I wasn’t as wowed as everyone else. I found the tea cheesy in someways and in other ways reminded me of creamed spinach. I wouldn’t reorder.

This one just didn’t do it for me. I felt like I was sucking bark off a tree. I wanted to like it – who wouldn’t with a name like “The Skinny”.

This is one of the first teas I bought from David. I think perhaps I wasn’t ready for the sweet, creamy depth of the tea. Now that I’ve been drinking with David for a while, I like it better as I have become more comfortable with dessert teas that are not fruit based. I like it but don’t love it. It is light and creamy but I find that if I’m looking for a dessert team, I am more likey to turn to forever nuts or read my lips.

The aroma on this tea was a bit heavy – sort of like cracker jacks. I did like the tea and my kids loved it. It works as a lite dessert replacement and kept my kids from getting into snacks whilst we watched a movie.

I spent a lot of time avoiding this tea. The description and name just didn’t do anything for me. I needed to bulk out an order so I thought I’d try something different. This tea was so unexpectedly delish. It smells a bit like a coconut crunch cookie – now I don’t like those kind of cookies but I do like the smell. My husband thought it smelled like fruit crumble, my daughter thought it smelled a bit like carrot cake. The pink colour is quite pleasing and the freshness of the cinnamon is addictive. It has leaped to the top of my tea favourites.

drank Read My Lips by DAVIDsTEA

Seriously, this is the best chocolate tea I’ve ever had. I don’t even like chocolate teas and I loved this one. I loved it so much that I made two pots within an hour and a colleague and I actually wanted to make a third. The pepper and mint bring out the taste of the chocolate. What I liked is that this tea really tasted like how it smelled. I’ve tried super chocolate, chocolate chilli chai and chocolate and those ones just didn’t live up to my expectations but Read my lips – oh so lovely.
