drank O' Sullivan's Favourite by Zen Tea

This is a really good Irish Breakfast tea. It’s simple and steady and just… good. I guess all tea drinkers need one or two basic teas (black, green, or otherwise) that they can turn to time after time. When it comes to strong black tea this is my choice.

I bumped my rating up a bit because I finally wrote out my rating system (although it’s still rather vague) and I feel like this tea could be a mainstay in my pantry for a while.

A true Irish name! :)
Sounds like one I would enjoy!

They have this at my almost local tea shop, Tin Roof Teas. I need to give it a try, especially since my daughter is marrying a young tea lover from Ireland!

I have always wanted to go to Ireland. I told my husband one day I’m going to go there, sit in a pub for hours on end and just listen to the other customers talk. :) Oh, and drink tea, of course.

drank Tropical Green by Harney & Sons

This is my attempt to keep the cold and dreary weather at bay. When everything is getting darker and colder, it’s nice to have a tea on hand that’s bright, crisp, and sweet. I really like the pineapple in here, and I like how the clean taste of the green tea lingers after the sip. Really enjoyable.

I’m in love with this tea. It is so rich and flavorful! Today I’m getting a creamy note that I don’t usually get. It makes the tea seem more decadent than usual. Not coconut cream pie, but more like an amazing coconut latte (but with no milk!). This works in my favor since I choose this tea in an attempt to keep me away from all of the sugary goodies that are starting to creep into my house. That’s one of those things I love and hate about the holidays….

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

I’m settling in for the night with my book (The Bone People… so good!), an extra blanket, and a mug of yummy vanilla goodness. I keep expecting to get tired of this tea, but it has not happened yet. That’s a good thing. It’s going to be a long cold winter, and I need a good tea to drink late at night that won’t keep me awake ’til the wee hours!

drank Blueberry Fruit Tea by Teavivre

Thank you, Teavivre, for this sample!

This is a very nice blueberry tea. Not too tart, but not so sweet that it taste like Kool Aide. I could taste the grape at odd moments which I thought added to the fun of the tea. Definitely enjoyable and something I would try again. Next time I’ll also try it iced.

Happy day after Thanksgiving, everyone. I woke up this morning, and my stomach rebelled at the very thought of food (note to self: pie at 11pm is a bad idea). After looking in my pantry and seeing this sitting on the shelf I knew it was what I needed. Delicious, tummy soothing wonderfulness. It may be a day late, but I am seriously thankful for this tea – and for tea in general!

drank White Christmas by Stash Tea

So happy to sit down with a mug of this tea. Spent the better part of the morning cleaning my yard of branches that came down during the hurricane. Thankfully, that was the worst of the damage for us. Anyway, it’s great have a warm cuppa in my hands. The peppermint is perfect. It relaxes and invigorates me at the same time. As far as bagged teas go this is one of my favorites. I’m going to have to stock up on it this year. Last year I threw myself a little pity party when the stores stopped stocking it.

Nik

Glad to hear you made it through relatively unscathed! I was thinking of you. Everything was fine here, but I know that others in nearby ‘hoods weren’t so lucky.

Veronica

Thanks. Glad to hear you are safe as well! Yeah, I’m still surprised by the amount of destruction all around us while incredibly grateful that we are ok.

drank Black Currant by Harney & Sons
1118 tasting notes

I’ve had quite a few mugs of this tea today. The black currant is nice, but what I really like about this tea is the base tea. It’s strong, smooth and rich. There’s no bitterness. The black currant flavor is nice. It’s not over the top, but it is constantly present.

The more I drink fruit flavored black teas the more I realize I want to taste the fruit, but I don’t want it to drown out the flavor of the tea. Especially when it’s such a good tea.

A friend of mine who works in Philadelphia picked up some really great teas for me from Premium Steap. This is the first one I tried, and it is delicious. The coconut is heavenly, and it gives a creamy decadence to the tea. Such a treat! The base tea is bold and rich. I’d like to know what tea it is because I think I would like it on its own. The base tea does not get pushed back by the coconut, but rather works with the fruit beautifully to make a complex and very satisfying tea.

This one’s a winner. I might even be willing to pay the toll to cross the bridge and buy more once my current stash is gone. Coming from me that’s a big deal. ;)
