64 Tasting Notes
Just finished off the last of what I won in one of Art of Tea’s Facebook contests. It’s good. Not amazing or crazy-memorable, but a solid vanilla earl grey that has been my staple morning cup for the last few weeks. Sad it’s gone, but probably won’t buy it any time soon.
180°, 3 minutes Very grassy.
Very flavourful, but not really the “sweet and light” I tend to search out in my Silver Needles. It is good and much sweeter than I expected, and my blueberry scone is meshing wonderfully with the cup. I personally wouldn’t buy it since I can get Silver Needles I enjoy more for around the same price, but it makes a fine cup.

I’m admittedly pretty picky about my flavoured rooibos, but I didn’t even spend long enough sipping at this to pinpoint why I didn’t like it so much. I just don’t. Blech.
The husband is happily sipping away at the rest of this as iced tea, and he doesn’t seem too disturbed, but it’s definitely not for me.

I >love< Puttabong. That classic muscatel flavour that is everything wonderful about First Flush Darjeelings is abundant in Puttabong. Always a good choice. This leaf is no exception to my expectations, so I’m rather satisfied. Malty and fruity and divine.

I make no secret of my trepidation around flavoured oolongs, but this smells delightful. Light and citrusy. It blends well together, and the citrus is nice and clean. The choppy oolong leaves are hard to pick out in the flavour, but that may work in this blend’s flavour. I’m not excited by this tea, but I am also not disappointed, so for a flavoured oolong, well done!

Why do I get the distinct impression that a few of the accounts below me were created just to bump up this score? Seeing as they have one-word reviews and only one tasting note each.
JUST SAYING.
Onwards… This is actually pretty tasty in an unhealthy sort of way. I’d say it’s a cross between Tang and straight ginger. So if they made a ginger Tang, it would taste like this. But, gosh, I hate individual serving packets as a general rule.
But I digress. This is good, but not something I’d want too often. I get plenty of sugar elsewhere in my diet, so I avoid it in my beverages.
Y’know, for bagged herbal, it’s really not that bad. Because it’s so rich, I can’t drink too much at a time, but it’s not too bad. The in-laws bought me an entire case for some reason, and I’m slowly but surely working my way through it. Since I have yet to just give up and throw it all out, clearly they got something right.
Since it’s cheap and easy, it’s my go-to blend if I want to drink a tea/herbal in the shower. No, really. Drinking tea in the shower is THE BEST.
This won first for an iced tea category at the North American Tea Championship, and I can see why. This is amaaaazing iced. It’s all right hot, too, but iced it is brilliant stuff. My mother-in-law, who is a self-professed tea hater, keeps asking me to ice cups of this for her.
