SIPDOWN.

Again, I like this one, but I won’t be restocking it anytime soon. I’ve enjoyed it, it is a good tea especially if you like the nutty ones, but I’m not sure if it’s one that I would grab all that much. Glad to be drinking this one down.

It’s funny being the only one that’s reviewed this tea. I found it to be too weak over the last few weeks that I’ve been drinking it, but tonight after my weak tea this morning, I’m finding this one to be so much better. It does have a hint of something like floral, but I don’t mind.

Really good decaf blacks with some muscle are few and far too far between!

I love this tea, but this morning’s sachet was very disappointing. It felt way too weak. It was one of those boxes with the prepaid sachets. I guess I just like my tea stronger than what they put in them? I decided to empty all my tea sachets into my bag with the other bit I have so it’s all together and now I can use however much I want.
Anyways, I love this tea and I will keep it in my cupboard if I can.

drank Apple Pie Oolong by CitizenTea

So, my sample of this is really old, and it shows with the flavour. Unfortunately it doesn’t taste like the apple pie that it’s suppose to. I bet fresh it would be delicious though! So no rating from me this time.

If anyone’s wondering, Yes, yes this is the same tea as the one that was teaopia’s from years ago. I loved that tea and when the company sold and that tea disappeared I was heartbroken. But with the birth of CitizenTea (same owners), this tea is back.

I had it today when I needed a midafternoon tea. I wanted something hot, comforting and delicious that would stop me from buying something from Tim Horton’s and I’m so glad that I made this one. It was exactly what I needed today and it’s just as good as always. I will probably always have a small amount of tea in the cupboard. Right now I have about 200g of this one so it’ll last for a while anyways And that’s good with me.

AH I loved that Teaopia blend!

drank Forever Frosty by DAVIDsTEA

I’m pretty sure this is the tea I’m drinking. It tastes very much like forever nuts but with a hint of sweetness from the marshmallows. I didn’t have any almonds or oranges in my sample, so I’m not 100% sure this is the one I have, but I’m pretty sure. It does have a hint of orange or something citrus in it too, which is something I have been hoping for in my teas lately as I’ve been plowing through them.
Anyways, I’m enjoying this one quite a bit and will probably mix it with my forever nuts to make a latte later to finish both of them up.

drank White Blueberry by Adagio Teas

Maybe I’m just too critical of white and green teas…

I’m having this one today. It was a free sample I got a long time ago, but again, it’s been sitting in my cupboard sealed for a long time waiting for me.

This sample had lots of tea leaves, and only one blueberry, but at least it was big. I wish it had had more blueberries because with it only having one, it feel likes this tea has so much potential but that it just isn’t giving me quite enough blueberry. I’m going to assume that’s just because of the sample I got though, and it’s not a reflection of the tea. I’m sure if I bought a bag of loose I would get more of the blueberry flavour.

Anyways, another SIPDOWN done!

I thought this one was a lot better than their White Peach tea.

After the overleafing that I did yesterday, I went a lot more conservative with my leaf today and even with my steeping time as this is a green tea.
1tsp, with a 2min steep.

Maybe I under did it today? I don’t know but this tea is lacking in everything. Maybe it’s because it’s getting old? But the bag was sealed so I just don’t know. I’m getting a tiny bit of spice, but no orange or very little almond… I’m going to chalk this one up to it being around for a long time and not rate this one.
It is pleasant to drink, but I’m just not sure what exactly I’m getting for flavours. The second ingredient is currants. Maybe that’s what I’m tasting…

Anyways I only have tsp left of this one which I think I’m going to toss as it’s not something I plan to grab again, so I’ll call this one a SIPDOWN.

drank Market Spice by Citizen Tea

Another SIPDOWN today

This one is older than I care to admit. It has to be at least 4 years old.. I think?
Anyways, I used my whole sample again, which made this one SUPER strong. DT teas need to be a perfect spoon (2.5tsp) for 16oz of water, but I’m noticing with other companies I don’t need nearly as much. Not sure if that’s a reflection of the tea leaf quality or what, but because I’m use to using so much, I ended up overleafing this one. I used the whole sample, and I probably should have done less as this one is crazy strong now. I had to add milk and coconut sugar because I didn’t like it straight up because of the way that I did it.

So, this one is interesting to compare to the last one I drank (DT’s Satsuma Spice Cake). This one has orange in it as well, but again, it is barely noticeable in this one. I really am only getting the spices out of it.

If I didn’t know about the orange and only took this one as a spice tea, I would probably love it, but expecting orange and not getting any, I don’t know if I really want to get this one again. It’s a very nice spice tea though.

Finally a SIPDOWN! It’s fun “shopping” in your own cupboard!
I’ve had this one in the cupboard for about 2 years now, but finally am drinking it now. It’s from an advent calendar and came in a baggie. I ended up using the whole sample as it didn’t look like it had much in the way of black tea leaves in there, but they were hiding under all the apple in the sample.

I can see how people would like this one, especially this time of year when everything is sugar and spice and everything nice, but for me it wasn’t all things nice. All I get is an over abundance of apple and sweet. The orange is there, but it definitely takes a backseat to the apple. DavidsTea is really bad for overloading a tea with apple, probably because it’s a cheaper ingredient (I believe it is anyway?).

So, would I buy this one again? No. Not unless they change the recipe and make it far more orange.
I tried it straight up and with milk and sugar. I shouldn’t have added the sugar as it’s far too sweet now, but either way, I didn’t really love this tea and will probably go make something different for myself now.

I’m a 30-something-year-old writer. I finished my first novel last year, which I’m editing this year amongst the world’s craziness and hoping to some day get it published. I’ve also written several short stories that I’m looking to get published someday

I work as a paginator (I do page layout for our local weekly newspaper) and absolutely love it! I’m also an amateur photographer.
I’m the proud mommy of two sweet little boys.
I’m married to an absolute amazing man who “puts up” with my tea obsession.

I became obsessed with tea a few years after high school.I started with Orange Pekoe double double (milk not cream), and peppermint. Since that time, I’ve really opened up to other kinds of tea and I’ve well… I’ve kind of just went nuts since then.

I’m a loose leaf fan, but if there are no other options, I will drink bagged.

I would have to say my favourite kinds of tea are (in no particular order): black, puerh cakes, herbal and matcha.

Green teas still aren’t a favourite for me, but I’m working on it.

I still can’t get myself to like mate teas, as much as I try, I just don’t like their flavour.

I drink tea every single day. I absolutely love it. I can’t image my life without it.

I don’t log every time I drink a tea as I don’t want to spam everyone with tons of duplicate loggings, but I will log when I have a new tea, which happens on a regular basis and when I do a SIPDOWN! :D
