On a roll today so decided to go way past my self imposed caffeine limit and have the last of the QQT black teas. I think with the celyon based teas I need to let them cool a little for the base to not over take the flavors. First sip I was like yak, I came back to the tea a few minutes later and yum. I get all the flavors, chocolate, orange, and a smooth base. This is pretty tasty. I would expect this would get a little better with a tad bit of brown sugar. Yum, another fun cup. After finishing tasting all the samples I couldn’t help myself but place another order. I am glad Lauren decided to post on Steepster!

Glad you’re shucking the caffeine limit today — I hadn’t heard of any of these teas and they all sound pretty great.

I love EG, so I had to pick one of the QTT’s EG’s to try. This one seemed the most unique. This is good. Nothing crazy fancy. When Lauren says their is a punch of Bergamont she is not lying. As it cools I get a slight hint of sweetness and maybe cinnamon? I think I would have to drink it right next to a straight EG to notice substantial differences between a normal EG and this. Not my favorite from QTT, but not bad.

This to me is tasting exactly as advertised. Roasty, sweet, nutty. A fun treat this morning. Delicious!

Oh what a wonderful cup for the morning. This is some serious yum! I think Mazi said it, I am turning into a fan girl. I am already plotting the next purchase, b/c I mean who could pass up a sweet potato pie keemun? I am drinking this tea straight, which if I had my drothers I would be adding milk and sugar to chai, but those are off limits for now. Just straight it a decent chai. I get some spice, who the heck knows what kind, plus some maple for sweetness. I am not really able to pick out pumpkin in this one, but it is still delicious. The base works for me on this one. Not too strong and not too weak.

EDIT: As it cools I definately was able to pick up more of the pumpkin spice flavor. Also, I am finding 2 tsp for about 8oz of water is the sweet spot for these.

You are tempting me!

I am not sure what shipping is for you, but he sample pack is pretty fun.

I’m not sure, either. A few other Canadians have given it a go though, so I can’t imagine it’s too ghastly.

This sounds absolutely delicious! :)

I ordered 5 oz and shipping was 7.50…

TeaTiff

I ordered 4oz and it was 7.00 so it looks like there is not much difference between US and Canada shipping.

This was a sample with my Yezi order. The oolongs I have had from Yezi have all been so nice and complex. I made it through have a session last night with this tea. It was silky and buttery, yet very light and floral. I will have to add more after tonight, but it was a very enjoyable tea. I would recommend this tea too someone who likes floral light oolongs.

MzPriss

Me! I like those. And I like Yezi. Going on the list.

TeaTiff

I don’t want to mislead you too much. The tea was only slightly buttery/silky. I have had a few that blow your mind in that department. This was not one of them, but it was still there and a good tea. I had the same leaves 2 nights in a row and will probably work on them again tonight. Good cup.

So, for me this tea was a tad off mark. My taste buds are only detecting the chili flakes and the cardboard taste of the Ceylon. After reading the great reviews on this I had hoped for sweet chocolate with spice, but I didn’t quite get that. I will have to try more the sample tomorrow to see if it was just my brewing…….

Yum! Another hit for the day. In ordering this chai, I was hoping for a chai that didn’t need milk and sugar, since those are off limits for the time being. This fit the bill perfectly. Even though I am not crazy about the base by itself, in this tea it is perfect. The combination of spices and base are magic. I love it. The balance between base and spice is exactly how I like it. Strong spice.

Yum! Coffee + cherry + tea. Yes Please! I am really digging this blend. The flavors are well balanced. The cherry doesn’t scream cherry, but you know it is there. The coffee when it was really hot was a tad bitter, but as it cooled it blended really well with the mix. This tea also gets a huge A+ in my book for creative/unique flavor. I mean I would have never thought these flavors would go so well together. Love it.

I fell in love with this tea in Summer of 2014. I believe that batch was a combination of Fujian Black and Dian Hong. The first sip of this… damn the FB is not there. It is way more smokey/savory without the sweet deep chocolate note that I loved from FB. I quickly went to the website to see what was replacing the FB. Xiao Zhong, yep that would explain the smokey/savory note. I like it, but I am not as in love with it as I was with the Summer 2014 version. This is missing the sweetness of the other version and it seems a tad thinner than before, but without a side by side comparison I can’t say for sure. Still a wonderful tea, just a little different.

The teas in this are the same…sadly though heavy rains this spring killed the chocolate notes in almost all black teas. Hoping for a dry spring next year. I really miss that dark chocolate too. :-(

Agree with you on the thinness, but also agree that it’s still an excellent tea!

TeaTiff

Aw, interesting… I had never seen the name of FB then…. Thanks for the correction! I still love it, maybe next year deep chocolate will come back:)

My WP order is here! Woot Woot!. So I ordered this tea not fully educating myself on it. I was thinking it would be a TWMBish tea or a PTAish tea. It is not. I have had a tea similar to this and I believe it was called a Red Jade. The spices in this are different, very different than your average tea. I am on the fence about whether I like this combination of flavors. My expectations were in the way this morning. I will try this gong fu and see what becomes of it with this method. This morning it was a cross between tomato soup with hints of cinnamon, mint and anise.

I started drinking tea while on a 4 month long cycling trip through South America. It seemed to always be a great way to warm up when I was cold and it was always available everywhere. Mate was the big tea of choice down there and it was also a great way to get to know people. When I returned home, my sister introduced me to Teavana and this launched me into the realm of loose leaf tea.
