Wow! Awesome! I always loved this drink, but never really never thought of it as a tea, but I found it here while browsing Steepster reviews! I love this. It’s so sweet, it’s creamy, it’s totally awesome. There’s a nice, smooth overlay of vanilla and the soy complements it so well. I usually dislike green tea (except matcha), but this tea tastes so good, it’s hard to believe the base is green tea! O_O It doesn’t have that “Aah…” moment that comes from drinking hot tea, but it’s really flavorful and sweet! It’s like candy in a bottle! Definitely not like tea at all, but great all the same. Good for gluttons and sugar-lovers like myself.

After a very overzealous spending spree on Adagio teas, I’m beginning to think I’m really not much of a Ceylon drinker. I got this tea, ordered 3 ounces thinking I’d love it so much… ::sigh:: How wrong I was. I mean, it was black tea— one of my favorite things, ever— and what everyone kept saying tasted like chocolate-covered strawberries.

I didn’t taste any chocolate-covered strawberries, and what I was hoping would be a rich-tasting, bold, smooth black tea base was merely astringent and bitter. I don’t think that’s just my oversensitive-to-bitterness palate, either— cartomancer asked for sugar in his, and he never wants sugar in anything!

I am willing to trade this. I bought a three-ounce bag and used two teaspoons of it.

I’ve tried this a few times. Unfortunately, the first couple of times, I kept forgetting that there was green tea in it, so I steeped it with boiling-hot water, which made it bitter. When I let the water boil and then waited for the steam to subside, it definitely turned out much better. It’s very smooth and minty, and the decaf green tea somehow makes the flavor feel more complete than other herbal peppermint teas, but at the same time it’s a little off-putting. I don’t usually like green tea, but I like this tea. The other flavors were sort of strange and it felt like they were just a backdrop to the mint and green tea flavors.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Smooth, full-bodied, malty— great in so many ways. I have mine with sugar and evaporated milk. I am trying to convince my family to switch to this tea, because it has the satisfying depth that PG Tips has, without the animal cruelty.

drank PG Tips by PG Tips

This is what my parents have in their home as their everyday tea. It’s the only one they drink. It is tolerable, I suppose, but since PG Tips is owned by Unilever and Unilever tests on animals, it gets a big, fat ZERO in my book. Besides, there are so many other great breakfast teas that will brew strongly, like Twinings Irish Breakfast or Ty-Phoo tea.

EDIT: Okay, maybe it gets a rating of 1, since that’s as low as Steepster will go.

drank Earl Grey Moonlight by Adagio Teas

I just got this and I didn’t like it, perhaps because my expectations were not aligned with what Adagio Teas was trying to market. I really wanted a notably sweet vanilla and cream earl grey, like Teavana’s Earl Grey Creme.

Adagio’s take on a “cream” Earl Grey was not very sweet. This blend ended up being a huge WALLOP of citrus… which is cool if you’re a huge Earl Grey enthusiast, rather than someone seeking a mild “cream”-type Earl Grey.

This is a nice, smooth mint blend with a medium-strength black tea as its base. I like it, but since I like to sweeten my tea and I have often had this in situations where I was actually denied access to sugar (due to obese assholes who were on a diet that they imposed on everyone that failed anyways), it has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, if only by negative association. I know it’s pretty good, but I think I’ll wait and try it again, when things are better and I’m less likely to have to deal with jerks so frequently.

drank Earl Grey Creme by Teavana

I remember really liking this tea, but it’s just way too pricey. Plus, the Teavana staff is obnoxiously upselling constantly, AND they don’t know how to prepare this tea so I’m constantly disappointed when I ask for a cup of it (the only thing I can really afford on any given visit these days), even when I specify that I want it with a lot of milk and sugar. They’re a little stingy with both. As much as I used to really love this tea, it’s not worth the money. Besides, since the company has recently been bought out, my past experience tells me that soon enough, the product will not be the same one I really liked before… not like I had any plans of going back to Teavana anymore. Sigh. I just ordered the Adagio Teas “knockoff”/copy-cat of this flavor (at about half the price per unit), and I’m hoping it’s pretty good, too.
