This was a rather tasty mint tilleul. The mint isn’t as sharp as a peppermint tea, but quite nice nonetheless. If you’re after the benefits of Tilleul, but don’t care for it on it’s own, give this a shot.

After reading the reviews I was prepared to toss the cup after the first couple sips, but it’s actually not bad at all. Full disclosure: freshly brewed, I think it smells like fresh cat urine. But if you can get past that… it’s alright.

Blergh! Definitely not for me. I love pomegranate, but this just tasted like cough syrup!

I’ve just had Indian take-out (from an amazing restaurant called Masala. If you ever find yourself in Wellington,New Zealand, definitely give it a go) so that may be influencing the spices somewhat, but I’m loving this. I’m not overly big on cinnamon as a single note, but this is lovely. Far sweeter than I thought it would be. I bet it would be amazing with a cider or chai.

I don’t care for grapefruit, so it’s no wonder why I didn’t like this. However, I’m reviewing this for those that DO like grapefruit in a rather backwards way. The white tea and vanilla are lovely and delicate. The grapefruit, to me, tastes a lot like actual grapefruit. Which of course makes my entire face pucker and unavoidably jerk my head to the right. So, point being, grapefruit aficionados, give this a shot, as it passed my spastic test =(

In the [comedic] words of Robin Williams: Irish men will kick each others ass and then sing about it afterwards. That’s kind of how I feel about this tea. It kicked my ass, no question.

This was a pleasant citrus Green. The Ginkgo lingered for me, but wasn’t overpowering.

Bio

Time for a profile update. I’ve been on Steepster since early 2012, and my tastes have expanded since then.

I generally take my tea straight, although occasionally blacks may end up with a splash of milk if I’m after a certain comfort factor. Right now, I’m going through a black phase, although white and oolongs still remain my secret favourite children. Honeybush and Rooibos are still a case-by-case basis.

Likes: Coconut, Peach, Honeydew, Various Melons, Lychee, Nectarine, [Blood and normal] Orange, Tangerine, Berries in general, but specifically Strawberry and Raspberry, Chocolate, Pumpkin, Caramel, Pecan…

Dislikes: Licorice, Coffee, Grapefruit…

I (still) haven’t perfected a rating table as of yet, so here’s some bad tea jokes instead!

What is a baby teapots favorite game?
Pekoe-boo.

What does a teapot say to it’s lover?

How long does it take to ship tea from China by slow boat?
Oolong Time!

What does a tea bag do when it’s tired?
It seeps.

What do lady teapots like to wear?
String of Earls!

Why did the tea get away?
Because it was loose.
