15 Tasting Notes

Not too flavorful until the very bottom of the cup. A nice flavor, but not great. I like lemon and ginger a lot, but could actually use a bit more of them, or something else to complement it.

In the future, I should use this only to make smaller cups of tea.

This was good, but not great. Definitely a lot of lemon flavor as others mentioned, although not as strong as I expected even after a generous steeping time. The black tea flavor still comes through below the lemon, but it’s a bit overpowered. I added a pump of sweetener and that was a good choice.

This seems like it could make a brilliant iced tea. It’s basically an Arnold Palmer even without adding any lemonade! Since it’s not wow-ing as a hot tea, I might do this with the remainder of my tea bags.

Another great cup of Genmaicha. I’m almost out so I’ll have to try another brand soon and compare. I steeped much longer this time (by accident), and got more toasty flavour and after-taste, and still no bitterness! Definitely one of my favorites

Slightly less flavourful than the Twinings Irish Breakfast, but much smoother, and just overall enjoyable. Not at all bitter and a nice after-taste.

Had this again, but steeped it much longer. The result was quite similar – apparently this is not a tea I need to worry about over-steeping.

I don’t like this quite as much as Twinings earl grey, but it makes for a pleasant, unsurprising, and comforting tea. At their recommendation I added sweetener and just a touch of milk. I think it could have steeped even longer.

Earl Grey is a fabulous tea, and Twinings does a great job with it. Not the most extravagant, but certainly delicious and enjoyable. I added a pump of sweetener, made a really large mug, and enjoyed it as it cooled from boiling to room temperature.

Despite my like for chocolate and mint (and their combination), I remain unconvinced that they belong in tea. I don’t think I would enjoy this tea much on its own, but I managed to brew it just before pulling some girl scout thin mints out of the freezer, and I can’t imagine anything better to complement it. I added no milk or sugar, just ate the cookies as I drank.

Although this has a little bitterness, it’s just enough to round out the flavor and no more. The jasmine isn’t particularly strong, but so what? To me this is a good green tea with just a touch of jasmine, and I’ll happily drink it when I’m looking for something simple and warm.
