8 Tasting Notes

I’m not big on herbals but the melon aspect surely made me curious. This tea is very different from anything I normally drink but it’s not too bad. The melon is very front and center. It would be very easy for mint to overwhelm the melon but it’s honestly perfectly balanced to not overwhelm. Theres a nice cooling sensation that follows the melon. I thought it was pretty tasty as a hot tea and I could see myself drinking it here and there but my next task will be to try it cold. I think it’s going to be a spectacular iced tea!

I’ve decided this tea just isn’t for me. AU tea’s can be very polarizing. I want to like this tea. The idea of these flavors is amazing and traditionally these are flavors that I like but I just don’t like them combined in this tea. The cinnamon seems artificial to me. The cocoa is very mild. The overwhelming flavor is really more of a sensation. The chili comes across mostly after you swallow and for me, gets caught in my throat. I like spicy foods so its not overwhelming or unpleasant exactly but it doesn’t add anything to the tea in my opinion. I don’t see myself drinking this again. It has quite a following based on the reviews on their website so perhaps I’m missing something but this one just isn’t for me.

I absolutely love this tea! I threw this in as a last second sample because I really enjoy some peach flavor here and there not expecting to enjoy it nearly as much as I do. I find myself going to my tea chest looking for this more often than not and at the same time trying to ration it until I can order more. Very mellow, no bitterness and a nice sweet fruitiness to it! Lovely! Can’t wait until I have a tin of this at my disposal!

I didn’t have very high expectations for this tea but I was very wrong. I ordered a sample thinking that I would think it was “okay”. I actually couldn’t have enjoyed this cup of tea more if I tried! Such a nice smooth and natural vanilla flavor. I frequently find these types of teas to be artificial tasting but this one was very mellow and delicious with no hints of weird aftertastes. I will be getting a tin of this for future enjoyment! Also, it’s decaf which is a nice plus for a relaxing cup of evening tea!

I ordered this because I love Harney & Sons Chai and I was certain I would love the chocolate chai at least as much. To be honest, I much prefer the original. This one isn’t bad but the chocolate doesn’t come through as strongly as in their other chocolate teas. This is a nice spicy chai and is a warm relaxing cup of tea to enjoy but I’m very underwhelmed by the chocolate aspect. I’ll have no problem drinking the tin but I probably won’t order another of this version. Your mileage may vary.

This is a very mild tea. The coconut is extremely mild and in no way overpowering. Very mild notes of chocolate and I get a little bit of caramel as well. There are no harsh or strong flavors noted in this tea. Fortunately, there is no unpleasant aftertaste either (sometimes coconut gets soapy for me). Overall, this is a nice easy sipper. I wouldn’t mind stronger flavor but this is nice to relax with.

I actually got this tea by accident. I ordered Chocolate Chai Supreme and was sent this 4 oz tin of Chocolate Mint instead. I emailed Harney & Son’s and by the next morning the proper order was on the way and they told me to go ahead and enjoy this tea anyway. Great customer service! I gave it a try the next day and was a little bit underwhelmed initially. Not bad but just not amazing. I decided to have it again the next day and for some reason it really grew on me the second time. The mint is really refreshing and the chocolate is surprisingly strong. It reminds me of a guilt free hot chocolate and is very enjoyable. It’s frequently in my travel mug and it’s somehow become one of my favorites over the course of a week! A delicious happy accident.

My first Lapsang Souchong and second time drinking it. Very different from most of my other options but very lovely nonetheless. Strong smoked smell but much more mild taste. Very earthy with no discernible bitterness. Reminds me of a campfire or a fire in a hearth. Not my everyday drink but certainly an enjoyable option when I’m looking for something a little bit different.
