15049 Tasting Notes
Needed something simple to finish the evening off with and figured this would be a good one. I’ve got to get to sleep soon as tomorrow is going to be the start of some serious suckage. Release weekend means 10am to 5am working, which means up earlier than that to get ready/have tea and then home later than that…since we never ever ever make it within the time we plan for. Soooo there goes my weekend. On the upside? I can spend some time working on crap i haven’t had time to do..like my mid year review lol. Downside? grumpy sil with not enough sleep tomorrow haha.
FInal Count: 145 ( 22 days to drink 30 + 15 teas….ignoring the fact that a few ppl have teas that they plan on giving me… haha)
thanks again for sharing these MF teas with me CharlotteZero I had a really enjoyable time drinking and sampling the non Mousse au Chocolat ones. It’s still my favourite, but these were very much an enjoyable journey through some of MF’s other flavours. If they weren’t sold as part of these tins dealio’s, there would be more of these in my cupboard!
I have a few more packets of these that i should enjoy and love! I am trying to hold off opening my large bag of keemun from teavivre since when that’s open, i tend to gravitate to drinking that first, and i have other teavivre teas to drink first lol (i know first world problems, right?) lol I haven’t had this one in a while so it was a refreshing reminder of why i love these. rich, dark and malty – soooo good.

I know exactly what you mean! What times of the year do they typically have their most significant sales other than Black Friday / Cyber Monday?
This is one I really like. It was one of the first I ever had.
looseTman – not sure, i don’t track teavivrew sales as much as other companies since i’m comfortable buying from them at regular prices
It’s July. Their Anniversary . I think deals were even better than BF
there you go… butiki and teavivre seem to line up then haha does not bode well for my wallet!

Joseph Wesley I got on NYC tea Fest so I dunno. He gave me very good deal I didn’t even asked. I read somewhere you can call them up and ask if they can give you discount. I suggest to try samples first. I may like something you don’t ;)
Shang tea is exceptionally good. I only didn’t like jasmine or orange blossom(bitter). I just not into florals much. I enjoyed Tangerine blossom a lot. Would be great for hot summer

It would be great if there was a Steepster master calendar showing all the annual sales (e.g. Anniversary sales) for the many popular Steepster tea suppliers.
Another tea from today…and another tea that i’m very nearly done. On the upside i DO have LB genmaicha to get my through until my preorder of LB shows up. I can’t really complain since i have so many delicious teas at home, but i DO hate it when i don’t have this one in my cupboard lol still though, i have a feeling that in terms of this tea i prefer the later harvests…though i’ll make do with a spring harvest lol
I agree. I drink this one so much, it is a staple I can’t be without.
What would the flavour differences be between the harvests?
i suspect it will change year over year based on water/temps etc… but spring seemed to be a little less chocolatey last year than the fall harvest…that being said i still go through 6-20oz a year lol so it’s not that different for me…but others have cared/not liked the differences
I did notice the difference when I ordered a new batch a while back, not realizing it was a different harvests, though I still loved them both.
I guess those are the breaks when it’s a natural substance you’re dealing with….a certain degree of unpredictability!
I’m getting down to the last little bit of this one. Apparently i should have just ordered 100g but on the flip side, now when i order more it will be fresh? haha I haven’t even started the other two teas from Nina’s that i purchased at the same time. This has been a great tea to have at work today as i’ve been in meeting hell and my weekend will be filled with work from 10am sat to 5am sunday….UUUUUGH. ah well, i’ll bring some tea and maybe a board game to teach ppl lol

last tea of the evening! (i so had a bath) . Getting down to the last few cups of this one, BUT that’s ok because there will be another order in July…at least lol. I still really like the fact that this is a herbal! it’s delicious, mint chocolate and it’s a herbal. I still haven’t found my perfect favourite mint chocolate BLACK tea…but this is almost enough to make me not care :)
Final Count: 146 (3 more weeks to get 31 teas down + 15 incoming in orders)
Maybe I will have this one next.
One I need to try so I can have my chocolate peppermint in the evenings. Going on my list as possible order/sample when I finally place an order w/them.

this one came to me from jump62359 This is for sure a chestnut tea. I am not getting any of the lemon verbena from this – just your typical average adagio black base with a nut type flavour. it reminds me of most of their teas. However, that being said, it’s not a bad cup of tea. I wish i knew more about the fandom though as on this one, i’m relatively clueless lol thanks jump!
Another sipdown tonight! I’m on a mini roll because i said eff it today and left work…before 5pm. So WIN for me! hence the reason i’m enjoying a few teas this evening before i pass out face down in a pile of my own tea stained drool. yeah, that’s right. Soooo exhausted and just need to go to bed. But we started Hannibal season 2 tonight…i’ve had some awesome tea and so there’s lots to smile about. says me. I’m trying to finish up a few more of my butiki teas because i’ve got another handful on their way lol. i have enjoyed this one a bunch, even though it’s not something that i’d ever typically reach for. It was fun to try and explore while i had it :)
shhhhhh…it’s all gone now. Drank up the last packet of this that i had tonight. Such a lovely tea – i’m so happy i got to try it and had friends to share theirs with me. I’ll keep my eyes peeled in case this or something like it ever comes back but for now, i’ll enjoy the memory of a seriously tasty cup of tea!
