11113 Tasting Notes
I’m pretty sure this is the first genmaicha that I’ve tried. I’m also fairly certain that’s what prompted me to order this in sample size sonce verdant started doing that. I’m not a huge fan of lighter teas, so i’m always hesitant on making larger purchases of those types of tea.
On to the tea! The scent on opening the tea is lovely. Once brewed, it smells like popcorn to me. Fresh wonderful popcorn that isn’t found in movie theatres…the kind my parents used to make in a pot on the oven. Though there’s a hint of “sweet” in the scent as well as it lingers.
The tea is a lovely light yellow colour.
The taste… this is a lovely tea which i’m sure i’m going to get distracted with as I work. Theres a sweet taste…the taste of corn, underlying hints of a vegetal taste but super light. Hmmmm i think i’m going to go focus on this tea…though i have to say the aroma is mkaing me hungry. While i’m not a fan of a lot of lighter teas….I’d order this one again. This is really quite delightful!
Sip down! go go gadget getting through teas! I’m going to miss this one and there’s a few from the tea merchant that I’d like to order someday but sadly it’ll have to go on my list of teas to purchase when i can ship them to the US for pick up. The shipping to canada is just a hassle sadly.
This is a relatively nice assam for what it’s worth :)
I figure that the reason that Helena loves this so much is because it’s like drinking liquid lemon candy. You know those lemon hard sour candies? Yeah those ones. Had this today to try and chase away some of the rainy day blues from the weather. I really like the intense lemon flavouring. Can’t wait to cold brew this to try it out sometime as well!
Another in my ongoing attempt to get my cupboard down to a more manageable size. I was on my way to being under 100 (i know, a bare cupboard by other people’s standards) and then my order from butiki arrived with 8? new teas and i have 2 orders still on their way from Frank and Red Leaf!
I still enjoy this one, though not nearly to the extent that others so. It’s an interesting blend with a number of things going on that makes it enjoyable. However, it’s more of a “glad i tried this tea” for me than a “must keep this around” tea.
Still a nice tea for what loks to be a week of crap weather in light of all the storms going on for other people.
I suppose this is technically a custom creation but I like logging them under the matcha that is dominant in my creation. TOday was a mixture of this and the cheesecake matcha. It’s going to be a week of rain here so I probably should make myself a matcha latte in the morning but i DO love my smoothies. I have a few new flavours on the way but i think i’m radually settling in to my top 5 matchas – this will be one of them :) I really like the flavouring of the black cherry. I’m tempted to try some of thet other cherries but this one is delicious!
