11039 Tasting Notes
So I have to say, this is a tea for cold brewing. It still doesn’t have the intense flavour that i’d prefer but in cold brewing this a lot more of the blood orange flavour came out. It’s also got a beautiful orange colour to it that makes me smile. I’ll be using the last of my sample to do another cold brew of this sometime for sure! Adding a touch of sweetner also helped. heh
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! Man it’s that kind of day. But it’s friday and it’s a long weekend. Only a little bit of testing to do on the weekend so we’re rocking this joint! Really enjoying being able to have the occasional tea in the afternoon. Shared this one with a friend from work and they really enjoyed it. YAY for tea sharing!
This is my second? Genmaicha ever, so take that for what it’s worth. :) I think i prefer the one from verdant that i tried but this is still pretty decent. There’s a lot more green earthy taste to this than i expected, though having little experience with this, i wasn’t sure what to expect. At the initial sip it seems almost like it’s going to turn into a chicken soup broth, until more of the liquid lands in my mouth. That’s a little wierd though because it tastes NOTHING like chicken soup. I have a few other’s from Den’s Tea that i need to try out this weekend, but this isn’t a bad little tea.
Thank you bonnie for your suggestion of adding a bit of laoshan black to this. I did try it straight again but it was just not happening. With a little laoshan black added I was able to drink and enjoy the rest of my steepings with this one. Will i get this again? Probably not but at least I can say that I’ve tried both regluar and winter versions :)
