10940 Tasting Notes
Mmmmm I didn’t get much tea today – in part from being busy and also from being paranoid about another spill at work lol had this when I got home after walking part way home in a skirt and bare legs lol yeah I’m a dumbass but whatever. The buses were really dragging today so it got me home a good 20 mins earlier and I didn’t have to fight to get on the bus :)
This tea makes me happy…though I think from a pumpkin tea perspective I do like the Della terra a smidge better. But this tea is also different. The spices are wonderfully strong and there’s that burnt brûlée taste that is really interesting.
Mmmm so i had this one this morning. After the incident with the tea yesterday I’m not confident in my ability to handle an open mug of tea at work anymore. Soooo the teas i’m drinking now have to be acceptable in larger quantites so i can put them in my sealed travel mug lol
I enjoy this chai quite a bit – it’s a little different than my others without being overly spicey.
So i finally found the perfect way to make this for my morning smoothie. 2 parts this and 1 part each of coffee matcha and cheesecake matcha. The cheesecake adds to the creaminess and the coffee cuts through the sweet of the mocha. So technically i guess this is a custom creation but whatever! I muck about with most of my matcha in some form anyway. I think the next time i order mocha though, i’ll either drop a flavouring level or just order chocolate matcha and make my own mocha with coffee and chocolate. :)
I really needed this this morning. I am usually at work at 7-7:15 and let me tell you, i got out of bed at 7:10. sooooyeaaaah. Looking forward to maybe being able to sleep in this weekend.
Oolongs….someday I will find one that doesn’t have that taste that I dislike. This one is close. Ill go through the multiple steepings to give this a full shot, but I don’t think ill likely be stocking this up.
I do like the initial taste of this one though.
Edit: I’m beginning to think it’s the smell even more than the taste… later steepings of this aren’t half bad.
I’m glad verdants samples generally have enough for two sittings as i’m fairly confident that I’m not going to be doing this justice at work today. I just wanted something today that wasn’t a flavoured tea but that had flavour..if that makes sense. I prefer the Mi Lan Black and Laoshan black from verdant but this is still a really enjoyable tea.
I can’t wrap my brain around the flavours that i’m tasting. it’s not really a malty tea..it’s sweet and yet not but yet is. I’m hoping in later steepings i’ll be able to discern more of the honey but right now i’m digging the woody, breadlike taste going on. I don’t catch the pepper that others do though.
I added this to my shopping cart a few weeks back on a whim, mostly because I’d like to get around to trying all of Stacy’s blacks and because Stacy was kind enough to let me add to my order to take advantage of her free pitachio ice cream promo. I ordered the summer sampler when she was out of pistachio ice cream so this was a chance to try it outside of a sample size. (Don’t get me wrong, i LOVE stacy’s samples! but they usually just leave me wishing i had more lol)
Anyway this is a mouth full of tea! It has a very full body, no stringency and like others have mentioned its earthy and roasty and really nice. I will enjoy drinking this tea down though i’m not sure it will become my first black for the morning tea. We shall see though. I’m enjoying this quite a bit so far.
