15019 Tasting Notes
another from the omgsrsly sample box of doooooom. I’m trying to make a concentrated effort to get a couple of sipdowns in every day to make up for lost time, ESPECIALLY now that i’m basically going to be travelling for the entire month of september…which may not result in a lot of opportunities to buy tea but i DO get a week back in chicago and i KNOW i can buy tea there lol this was a cold brew and not bad. it’s passable as an almost pear tea, while at least being a decent cup of tea without weird bitterness or silly flavours. I’d love more OOMPH but this one wasn’t terrible, esp considering it’s a teavana tea!
Another sample from the lovely YYZ this was from a really long time ago but it got me through the day. I enjoyed this one a lot this morning – chocolatey notes in warm delicious tea form… and that’s about all i’ve got. it was a 12 hrs work day followed by a few hours of parents wanting to talk through things going on lol
thanks for sending this one my way omgsrsly i tried this a couple ways and just cant seem to make it work. While it’s a nice creamy sort of tea…that’s where it ends. the rhubarb must have gotten lost on the way to the cup :)
I had this from David’s today as well as a free iced tea. it wasn’t half bad but i still very much prefer it when i make it. Couldn’t tell you why either except that it’s better when i do it lol.
Preparation
I had this twice today. once David’s tea made it, and the other time i did. Mine tasted better lol but at least teh David’s one was free heh Still enjoying this as a cold brew but so far i’ve resisted buying it. Must stay strong to my no buying tea this month, especially in light of all the unexpected mostly sort of purchases that have come up this month sigh
Passport renewal; wedding gift; presents for some folks; tailoring and such for some things….etc… As well…. Ugh.
(I might have sent you some fruity tisanes in the box I mailed today – Cherry Snowcone wasn’t one of them – but maybe some to help you get through til next month…..)
gross. since i was in a davids, i picked up this one to try as a cold brew. STEVIA I HATE YOU! that’s right…give me the stupid sprinkles in cherry snow cone over the stevia in this one because it’s all that i can taste. Smells like pink lemonade, first sip is really nice and then…….

……..
…….
ZOMG ATTACK OF THE STEVIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ugh.
Final Count: 175 ’Cause well cherry snow cone will be in there until tomorrow. :)
Preparation
Guys…i finally picked this up to try! Basically enough for me to try it two ways so this will be in and out of my cupboard before you know it. I brewed this for about 24 hours and drinking it, it’s really really nice. I know there are better cheery tisanes out there but i am a fan of this one…which makes TWO from David’s that i’ve been a fan of recently… scaaaary!
mmm i need to get on top of trying and drinking through my Norbu teas. They were a guilty pleasure when i ordered them so i’ve been hoarding them for too long. this was the last of the 3 teas i took with me while travelling today and it too was a great choice. bready, cocoa-y delicious strong tea. yum yum yum
MMMMMmmmmmm Norbu – I don’t drink their tea often enough either….(putting it on my list for tomorrow.) Happy that you enjoyed some today.
Travel for a month??? I’m so jealous. Even if it is for work and not vacation (though I hope at least part is vacation). I love going, no matter the reason. :)
you’d think so… but i’ll be in places likes APPLETON! or wausau!…clearly thrilling places to go. lol i WILL be in kansas city for one day, but i’m not sure if i’ll get the chance to meet up with you since i have to drive out to st louis the next day…it’s one of those "in a new place every night’ sort of sucky deals lol. Only upside is a couple days in st louis to meet my tea sister; extra days in orlando to see my adopted “family” and hopefull a few extra days in phoenix before the last event.
Where are you going and is there tea there?
Marzipan – Chicago in august and then in september i’m looking at: kansas city, Indianapolis; st louis; millwaukee; minneapolis; appleton; wausau; phoenis; orlando; uh…..a few other places i can’t think of
Some great tea stores on your way!
Check out Verdant (duh) and Tea Source while you’re in Minneapolis! Coffee and Tea Ltd is also decent for flavored teas. I haven’t tried their non-flavored teas yet.
Mandala isn’t that far of a drive from Minneapolis – just sayin’
And no, I haven’t been to either, but I checked :)
Mzpriss – yeah i’m hoping i’ll get a chance to hit verdants tea room for fun and possibly mandala…but the timing is going to be really tight!
thanks for the suggestions MJ – will totally keep that in mind!
