A plague on fun!
Last night ( and most of yesterday afternoon) my neighbors were throwing a party, the sort with loud music playing and, later, even louder fireworks.
And a friend decided to text me at midnight and did not pay any attention to the fact that I was not replying, and kept sending essay lenth texts.
Then a bug trapped itself in my room and woke me up, and then this morning I was woken by a text from my mother.
Plus, its 100 degrees and it never cooled down last night.
This is a long way of saying that I am very tired, and annoyed at everything, and this cup of tea is no longer a beverage but a magical potion to wake me up and keep me from plotting my cunning revenge on all who have wronged me.
Plus it tastes pleasantly like grape.

Love grape teas, hate post-fourth fireworks revelry!

This tea, which has been sadly neglected for too long, has recieved the nomination to come to work and be drunk there.
I remembered it as being a bit bitter, but the cup I had on Friday was not, rather with the sweet mellowness that some Darjeelings have.
I like it, but its elderly, and there isn’t so much. It will be done soon enough.

And sipdown!
This has a lot of the same flavor profile as Royal Palace, but I like this one a bit less. It was one of my “it was fine, but I’m not going to get it again” teas, and I’m pleased with another sipdown!

This is really pleasant- a light, refreshing sort of breakfast blend.
Thats a wonderful thing to have in the cupboard for summertime.

Its taken a very long time, but this is finally a sipdown!
This is a really nice tea, a staple sort of tea. I’ve enjoyed every cup.
That said, I’m still in sipdown mania, so I’m not going to repurchase at this time, though I may very well get more in the future. Its really nice!
In the meantime I can now focus on more sipdowns!

I’m almost done with this, which has taken forever as the tin is absolutely massive.
Its such a solid, basic in the best way sort of Darjeeling. Its one of those teas that won’t be an immediate repurchase, but I won’t be sad if it makes its way back into my cupboard.
Its a perfect pick me up in an afternoon.

This is the final pot of this for the year!
I still really like this sweet, floral and fruity tea, but I don’t love it as I once did. But its very nice on a summer morning.
Sipdown!

It is approximately six billion degrees outside, and I am determined to spend as much time as reasonably possible holed up inside, hiding from the fiery death ball we call the sun.
The trouble with this time of year is that it doesn’t properly cool down at night, so it never cools down in my house, so I wander around making high pitched keening noises, and have absolutely no dignity whatsoever.
I hate summer. I want fall and winter back, where I can sit and be cozy and drink cup after cup of tea without sweating.
Grumble.
The strawberry and floral sweetness of this tea has done nothing to curb my temperature related grumpiness today, I am sorry to report. It was pleasant to drink, but less pleasant is the accompanying need for a cold shower, to curb the sweating.
I really should develop a taste for Iced Tea, something I’ve never managed before. That way I could keep drinking my favorite beverage, and not suffer for doing so.

Maybe a lovely ceylon to break you into iced tea? I admit, I’ll drink almost any iced black tea (except the one made by the downstairs cafe at my work – I don’t know how you screw it up, but they do!), but my very favorite is a nice ceylon, brewed double strength and immediately poured over ice. Oh, and also tazo’s zen green tea. That stuff can be powerful when brewed and iced!
In the meantime – good luck staying cool! I’m lucky enough to live in a small town in the high desert, and the daytime to night time temp can vary 30-40 degrees f!

Its been one of those utterly exhausting weeks, with long hours, difficult people, and hot weather
Ugh.
Its in weeks like this that I really appreciate the existence of nicer tea in sachets. Because there have been a few mornings where the thought of loose leaf is just a little too much.
Ugh.
This tea is a light, but well balanced breakfast blend. Not astringent, not bitter, but a little mild. I expected something a little less genteel, honestly, but hey!

Once again, the heat is making it almost impossible to sleep, and today is Monday. Ugh.
So my final cup of this is the fuel for the morning.
I don’t think I’ll buy this again. I know I said this last time, but I think its more probable this time. I like rose teas, but this one seems a little too flat and one note to make it a worthy long term cupboard addition.
Sipdown!

I love tea! I confess that I was a hot chocolate lover for most of my life, but recently a switch has gone off in my brain, and suggested that I might just love tea. And I do!
I’m a bit of a novice, but an enthusiastic one, and am happily sipping new varieties all the time.
I love vanilla, fruity, and caramel flavors, and cant wait to try more.
