2797 Tasting Notes
So, as previously established, I’m a total sucker for a name.
If I had seen this tea listed with a more generically caramel-y name I might have thought “hmm, sounds good. I like caramel teas. Maybe I’ll get that,” but as it was named after a Harry Potter thing, I clicked add to cart immediately.
It smells fantastic in loose leaf form, rich and decadent. It brewed up a little plainer than that, at least in this steeping, but I wasn’t watching my steep times, so there is still hope for the flavor. I am looking forward to the next cup!
First day of September, time to pull out a new tea to try!
I am a completely susceptible person to things like packaging and names. I would like to think that I’d choose something for it’s qualities, not just a cool tin or a neat name, but, if I am honest, that plays a larger part in my decision making process than I am comfortable with.
I bought this, yes, because I like rose teas, but honestly because I liked the name. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale, I love the Disney version, and what is money, anyway?
But, I’m pleased to say that it’s a solid rose blend. Both the tea and the rose are hearty flavors in this cup, neither one drowning the other out, and it makes me pretty darn happy.
Score one for whimsical names!
I got some tea from Bird and Blend delivered yesterday, and I feel much better about my cupboard size. Ten teas was freaking me out, I must say.
But, despite the influx of new teas, I have gone for a classic here.
I’m dragging today, but a cup of Malachi is helping. And it’s Friday, of a three day weekend, none the less!
There are ten teas in my cupboard. Ten teas. I feel like some sort of person on a holy fast or something like that.
Zounds. Can I remember the last time my cupboard was this small? (No).
I’ve been trying to find the perfect cupboard size, where I have options but am not overwhelmed. And this number of teas is too small, if I am honest. I feel like some sort of tea minimalist!
Fall ordering can start this weekend, and I will feel much better with a few more options.
But, this small cupboard is making me drink things that have been ignored. This got brought to the office, as the work tea, and I’d forgotten it was so nice.
I’m a little sensitive to jasmine, I can usually only work one cup of jasmine tea before I start to feel slightly ill, but as long as I stick to the one cup a day rule, this is really nice. The jasmine isn’t overpowering, and the flavor is delicate and pleasant.
And I’d been ignoring it for way too long, so I’m happy to be drinking it!
Ten teas. Eeeeeek.
Its been a really long week. I am really, really glad it’s Friday.
I killed this off yesterday. I like this oolong, but next summer I think I’ll get Melon Oolong instead, as I like it a bit more than I like the Muscat.
The fruity oolong is a summer tea in my mind, so I’m glad that it’s sipped down before September.
I am starting to twitch. The cupboard is tiny, and I am ready for autumnal teas!
