What more perfect tea to sip while playing cards with family and friends on a Christmas Eve after a long day’s hard work? It was sweet and light and tasted like Christmas, which is all I wanted tonight. Definitely warming up to it.

Steeped twice, second time got a lot more of the tart cranberry and it was delicious.

drank Coco Chai Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

I always forget how much I like this one until I drink it again. Usually not a fan of chai because of the cinnamon component, but this is a nice sweet coconutty one. The rooibos is more mellow, not as sweet. Maybe I am bending on my no-rooibos rule, because I’m drinking more and more of them that I enjoy.

drank Lemon Myrtle (Organic) by DAVIDsTEA

As soon as I smelled this tea, I was totally stoked to try it. Sat down with a big cup of it today and I was not disappointed. I did enjoy drinking it on its own, but I think it would be even better mixed with a straight tea, or as the base for my wife’s throat-fixing honey-lemon recipe.

Word of warning: It did get pretty bitter the longer it sat, so I would go with a lower temperature and shorter steep time than recommended.

drank Citron Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

I think I’m addicted to lemon myrtle now. I want to drink it in everything.

I first tried the Citron Oolong ages ago, probably in one of the first rounds of tea-buying we did, but I didn’t actually pick up any until this past weekend, when the Legendary Collection packs were on sale. I have no idea why I waited so long because it’s frickin delicious. Sweet and fresh and lemony, but a smooth and clean oolong underneath. Just have to be careful about oversteeping this one because it can get bitter a lot faster than a straight oolong.

the lady that sold this to me said it can’t be resteeped! but I tried and it seemed ok… how about you?

De

It was a little sharp, but not overly so. I think it was fine.

Cattibrie

Indigobloom did you buy it in Ottawa because I was told the same thing. I have resteeped it fine.

Indigobloom

Nope, in Toronto. It’s a mystery!

Mmmm. I haven’t actually tried this one yet. First trial of the variable-temperature kettle we got for Christmas, and the lowest setting seems perfect for greens. Did a short steep, which gave me a nice light flavour, not too overwhelmingly sweet. Lots of orangey goodness with a bit of tartness from the cranberries. A little too sweet for this late at night, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this one.

Mmmm. Tea. I have become a believer.

I like oolongs and greens, and dark smoky flavours. And Earl Greys. All the Earl Greys. I have bent my nerd powers to learning as much as I can about tea and tea culture. I have started to ramble about tea.

Tea. Mmmm.
