570 Tasting Notes
I stashed a box of this at work for when I just really, really need some comfort tea. Which was today. Brewed it up in the Timolino and left it uncovered so I could drink it some time today because that sucker keeps everything NUCLEAR HOT. It’s bagged tea, but it’s damn good. I don’t expect much of my bags and this delivers. Creamy, mint, soothing.
Preparation
SHARK WEEK BEGINS. And I feel like total shit on a stick. THIS CALLS FOR PEPPERMINT. Magic magic peppermint. Whenever I’m not feeling good I reach for a cup of peppermint, whatever I can managed to get my hands on, but David’s is hands down the best straight peppermint I’ve ever had.
Preparation
My wife had a craving so we had a pot. I have a fondness for lemon oolongs, so I did not argue. The oolong here hides underneath the lemongrass and the zest, but it also cuts the tartness and the sweetness and keeps it from just tasting like an herbal. A very nice balanced cup.
Preparation
Backlogging a bit. Sort of grabbed randomly for a tea the other day – I wanted something black, and that’s all I knew. I remember this one being a luscious mouthful of fruit and melon, but this cup was a little disappointing. There was a faint aftertaste of berries and honeydew, but it was mainly just a cup of decent black tea. Not amazing. Just okay. A little dusty-tasting. Maybe I needed a longer steep time to bring out the berries.
Preparation
Ahhhhhh getting behind on reviewing tea. SO. Wife and I ordered Indian for dinner and then ate waaaay too much, so while we were sitting around feeling like zeppelins, she made a pot of this because she is BRILLIANT. This is always the best to drink after a big meal. Sweet but not too sweet, a little bit orange-y and fruity, and really helps with the digestion. My tummy is pleased.
Preparation
This was surprisingly dark for a black tea, but it was decidedly tasty. An earthy base that’s deliciously minty. Like a mint Aero bar. That kind of creamy minty. Shared a pot with my amazing wife for a sipdown, this was really good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to restock. The mint does remind me of David’s Peppermint Amour, which is my favourite mint.
Preparation
Yuuum. My wife cracked open a can of coconut milk and made a latte for me with this – why coconut milk? Because this tea tastes like nothing so much as a diluted Hello Dolly square, which is amazing. It’s this flaky coconutty chocolatey cookie type taste, with just a bit of an edge on it like they’ve been sitting in the pan too long. A++ would drink again.
Flavors: Cocoa, Coconut, Nuts
Preparation
I would love to make an ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD joke but unfortunately I really just can’t. This tea gave me all sorts of fruity citrusy promises and then didn’t deliver. Brewed up, it’s incredibly dry (I keep smacking my lips and looking for water) and almost no flavour. I just took a sip of it and I can’t tell you what it tastes like. And it’s got this odd chemically tap water aftertaste. Did not enjoy.
I love this tea so much and I love to drink it around christmas time instead of hot chocolate! I would say this is my FAVORITE winter tea
