Cup of this with whipped cream vodka tastes weirdly like an apple pie. But delicious. I wouldn’t recommend the whipped cream vodka on its own, though, since it’s way too sweet and has too much of a liquor bite to it.

Oh right! The tea! I love this spice blend, it’s smoky and creamy. Almost like a chai but without the overwhelming flavours that sometimes turn me off chai.

So Thursday (if you didn’t know) was Beltainn, also known as May Day. I did my solitary prayers and offerings BUT THEN my Celtic recon group got together virtually for some traditional religious festivities – namely, getting ridiculously drunk and playing games.

So. Earl Grey with a shot of vanilla schnapps. Excellent A++ would recommend.

Drinking this one cold-brewed right now. My wife put it in the fridge to steep overnight, and I’m really enjoying it! I’m not a huge iced tea drinker but this one is good. It’s not too tart, not too floral, not too grassy, just sweet and blueberry-y. I think hot it would come off as too sweet, but it’s a great choice iced.

Oh wow. I wasn’t in the mood for tea this morning (yes, I know, such a thing is possible) until my wife waved the bag under my nose. Then I had to have a cup – and I was not disappointed.

Dry, it’s rhubarb and cream – a little bit tart, a little bit sweet, a bit of white chocolate scent. Dusty black tea somewhere in there.

Brewed, it was exactly what it said on the tin. A tart treat that mellowed out with the creaminess. The black base was rich but not overpowering, worked really well with the cream. The rhubarb was the strongest at the beginning of the cup, by the time I got to the bottom it had cooled a little and it was much more black tea. A bit of an Irish breakfast in taste.

PS I have a list of teas that I’ve drunk but haven’t logged so if it looks like I’m drinking a ton of tea, I’m just catching up.

Yes so I am so behind on my tea reviews (unsurprising) and this was from a few days ago. My wife made a big jug of this and we split it, and she’s sitting on the other end of the couch making faces and shuddering, and I’m groaning in delight. Now, our tastes are usually fairly dissimilar, but not to that degree. So we switched cups – and yep, hers was gross. Same tea, same brew time, same jug, wildly different taste. Mine was sweet and lemony and honey-like. Surprisingly delicious when cold brewed and full of agave for what’s supposed to be a relaxing medicinal tea.

Another cold brew adventure. We are starting to narrow in on the fact that I only seem to like fruit blends and herbal teas when cold brewed. I’m drinking this one right now, it’s my second big timolino of it, so I think we may have a winner. I think I might need a little less sugar in it, though. It’s sweet to the point of being tart, but it leaves an almost spicy, cinnamon aftertaste on the tongue.

I keep hitting the ‘notify me’ button instead of ‘review this tea’. They should really make the review button bigger.

ANYWAY.

My wife discovered that I actually do enjoy some cold-brewed teas, so we have set out on a quest to discover exactly which ones, and how much agave is too much agave. I’ve had so many in the last few days that I haven’t reviewed that I’m just going to do them all at once and out of order SO we’ll start with Lemon Meringue – which in and of itself is one of the few rooibos teas that I enjoy (I find rooibos just too naturally sweet – it sticks in my throat).

Unfortunately, I did not like it cold-brewed. I’m leaving my rating where it is, because hot this is delicious, but it turned bitter and pungent on cold brewing.

I agree with previous estimates – this does taste more like an oolong. Like an oolong soaked in grape kool-aid. In the best possible way, it’s really good. I drank about half the cup hot, and it was more oolong-y. The grape became much more prominent as it cooled.

Had to wait like two hours to drink this after getting it in-store because I had them make it in a Timolino. Over all, it was pretty tasty, but reminded me of Chocolate Cake. Had a bit of a cinnamony sparkle to it, but nothing special.

Toronto niiiiights, like Toronto daaaaays, more often then not, are colder than balls, in a lot of good waaaays.

This was . . . good. Interesting. I’m glad I tried it but I don’t think I’d restock. The overwhelming flavour of it tastes nearly exactly like Lucky Charms.
