431 Tasting Notes
First, “Thank you, Jamie” for sending me this sample along with all the others, you are so generous.
I am so HAPPY I had the chance to try this tea, it is mostly plantain in flavor and slightly coconutty. I absolutely LOVE the raw green roobios tea I think mostly because the flavor of the green versus the red is more in the background. I find that the red is far more in your face. As such that means you really don’t have to over flavor the tea to get a nice balanced flavor. I can’t wait to try the rest of the raw bush teas. This is delicious and I will be buying it. Highly recommended!
Preparation
Well, normally I never put in cream and sugar in my tea but I was really curious on how it would taste so I did. It actually tastes really good. However, since I am not really used to it I will probably stick with the straight up method. Nevertheless, it holds up well and would recommend others try it that way too, just to see what I mean. Glad I did it.
Preparation
Great choice, it’s AWESOME! I would also get…Milk Caramel, Mono Oolong, and Matcha Au Lait -Caramel all so VERY yummy!
Wow, talk about different but so cool. You have to go into this with an open mind and I think I did or at least I hope I did. It was lovely and so very unique. I tried it plain for my first time but based on the flavor I can imagine this a great addition to Genmiacha and Sencha and I truly can’t wait to try it that way.
Flavor: Sweet and lightly floral as you would imagine a cherry blossom to smell. Tiny bit salty but most of the flavor was removed during the 5mins I let the flower soak in warm water, as directed. I then put in a spoonful of water, one at a time using the water the flower was soaking which adds a bit of a salty flavor. I noticed after the second spoonful that the sweetness vanished and the flavor became completely different. I wish I could describe it but let’s just say it was very unique and no it doesn’t taste like water with salt. I am glad I tried it and recommend you give it a try knowing it is a big risk. I imagine this to be a love it or hate it experience for most.
Preparation
Thank you Doulton for sending me this sample. Can’t believe it took me this long to try it. Better late then never.
First, this has such a sweet flowery orange maybe like orange blossoms at their peak. I also can taste the creaminess very well and when I drink this all I think about is my trips to Arizona with the memory of the desert sun, not a cloud in the sky, warm, and beautiful. It is a nice tea that helps me go to one of my happy places.
By the way I am typing this review while I sip on a Coconut Soy Earl Grey Creme Bubble Tea at Argo Tea in downtown Chicago. Yummy!
I prefer green rooibos too… I think it’s lighter and even has a little bit of a fruity quality to it … less of that woody taste.
