431 Tasting Notes
Thank you LiberTEAS for sending me this lovely blend. I truly was excited to try this and I did enjoy it, mostly because the pear really came through. I didn’t score this higher because to me the rooibos and the pear didn’t blend together as well as I would have liked. It was like they were two separate entities forced to be roommates and only sort of got along. I felt there needed to be another buffering agent added to make it all mesh together a little better. Although, I don’t know what it would be. Nevertheless, still worth a try and still very happy I had a chance to try it.
Preparation
It’s cold in Chicagoland today and I thought let’s try something bold and this does the trick every time. I am so surprised I hadn’t reviewed this already. I had tried this neat and it is very robust but not at all bitter. It is quite flavorful. Today I tried it with a bit of agave and a splash of milk which is very rare for me but I thought let’s give it a shot. It still tastes good but I feel like I enjoy it better straight which is typical for me. It is still bold and holds up very well with the milk. It basically just mutes the boldness a bit and gives it a creamier feel.
Preparation
Yummy, yum, yum! I loved this one. It was like a pie in a cup. I even re-steeped it and then results were just as pleasing. The lime tastes so fresh and juicy. I really need to try this iced but it was a sample I received with my order so I need more. I do highly recommend it.
Preparation
I truly enjoyed this tea but the whole time I was drinking it I kept thinking it is missing something. Every sip kept trying to pull a memory out of me but because it was missing that ingredient I couldn’t quite grab it. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the flavor and am very happy my dear husband and daughter thought of me and bought the tea set. I also got the Holiday Spice Black Tea but I haven’t tried it yet.
Preparation
Thank you LiberTEAS for sending this tea!
I loved the scent coming out of the bag but the flavor was more of a surprise. It smelled similar to the dry leaf smell once steeped but the flavor was slighly floral and a touch fruity but the bulk of it was a dry sort of earthy like flavor, not as robust but close.
Very interesting that’s for sure.
Preparation
First Thank you Doulton for sending me this tea.
As of late I have contemplated making a purchase of my own from The NecessiTeas and I am racked with some many potentially great choices but I don’t like spending money on shipping especially if I am not sure if I will like what I get. I hate to buy all samples and then pay $6.75 on shipping or buy just one $10 tea and then $6.75 on shipping. If I am going to have to spend money on shipping then I want to take advantage of the flat rate and buy as much as I can or afford. Then it dawned on me that I did in fact have a tea from them so I decided to have it now. At least then I get an idea on quality and if I think I may like their offerings. First, it is a rooibos and I find like so many far and in between. Next, banana in tea is hard to wrap my head around but still I will try most things at least once. With that said it wasn’t too bad. It is slightly sweet. I get the chocolate flavor way at the end and even after the swallow. I am not getting the Banana Split taste but it is yummy. I would drink it again and I am glad I got to try it. Having this does give The NecessiTeas one point towards a purchase but it wasn’t the slam dunk I was hoping for. Although, I bet an order will come into play sometime soon. The problem is I don’t know what to get.
Preparation
I have a number of recommendations for flavored blends from there. The Carrot Cake Rooibos is awesome and I really love the White Goji. I have tried the majority of their stuff. If you want more info pm for recs.
First, Thank you LiberTEAS for sending me some of this tea and with that said… DANG!!! This is some good stuff. I am so happy I ordered it anyway. I have ordered from Frank 3 times this month and the month isn’t even over yet. I told my husband I have another man in my life and before I could even finish my sentence he said…“Tell Frank I said Hi” we then both cracked up. Nevertheless, this delivers what it promises. I taste the white chocolate, vanilla, and spearmint very well and the flavors dance happily together. The honeybush adds to the flavor profile without taking over which I appreciate the most. Another winner from Frank, way to go!
Preparation
Um Rachel, not to make your wallet (or hubby lol) feel bad… but it’s only half over… me thinks you (and I and us all) are in trouble.
Had to let my wife read this one. She got a chuckle out of it too. Said she understands, she loves my tea too.
Thank you Doulton for sending me this tea.
I tasted the cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavors are really light. Unfortunately, I didn’t get an Eggnog flavor, I felt the roobios flavor was strongest then followed by a hint of the cinnamon and nutmeg. I will try other ways to make this and see if it improves in the future.
Preparation
Okay, the “rooibos, cinnamon, and nutmeg” sounds delicious…and the fact that it doesn’t taste like eggnog makes me want to try it more. Why, oh why, didn’t I find 52teas sooner?
If you like I can send some your way the next time we do a swap if you like. Say sometime next month.
Most assuredly!! Also, my local tea haunt sells about 50 Art of Tea blends. I can always get them to make up a few sample bags of ones you’re interested in (I usually don’t keep those on hand, I just drink them in-shop!).
What a great idea and so very generous of you. BTW, check out my cupboard and start sending in your requests so I can get a jump start. Otherwise, life gets a hold of me and I just never know where I may end up. :-)
This would be tricky. You’d need some way to get an “eggy/creamy” feel. The cinnamon and nutmeg alone sounds pretty good.
Thank you Meghann for sending me this tea, I am very glad to have tried this.
I am not sure if I really like this as much as I hoped. I feel like I was reaching to taste the elderberry and I did, or at least I think I did but only a little. I plan on trying this again and playing with the leaf and steep times. I bet I can get to like it better.
Stay tuned…
Thanks hubby for snagging me some of this from the United Red Carpet Club on your last visit. :-)
Go hubby!! You’ve trained him well!
