22 Tasting Notes
Advent Calendar 2017, Day 9: The smell of this tea is lovely and different. At first taste, though, it tasted like almost nothing. Enjoyable, because of the smell while drinking, but a let down. However, once it cooled a good bit more, the flavors emerged and it started to taste a lot more like it smelled. Still not a strong flavor, though pleasant. And since I generally finish my teas before I allow them to get that cool, I would find waiting that long an annoyance.
Preparation
I don’t generally like this kind of tea, but Amazon sent it to me as a mistake, so I gave it a shot. Was even worse than I expected – had a bad sour taste, with some bitterness. Even adding milk didn’t really help. I ended pouring most of it out. This tea will live in the work kitchen for others to drink. It is a very fine loose leaf – would not recommend for someone using a normal tea ball, needs a very fine strainer.
Preparation
Advent Calendar 2017, Day 4: Very strong floral jasmine smell and flavor. I found it overpowering and cloying, but still somewhat appealing. Got a decent second steep out of it.
1.25 tsp of teas, 1 “perfect spoon”
Preparation
Advent Calendar 2017, Day 3: Fruity, but the yogurt bits gave it a weird, off taste and strange mouth feel. So close to being good, but I kept making those mouth movements that dogs do when they have peanut butter in their mouths to get the texture out.
1.25 tsp of teas, 1 “perfect spoon”
Preparation
Advent Calendar 2017, Day 1: Enjoyed it while I was drinking it, but can’t picture reaching for it. Was nice and cinnamony, soothing, a taste I would want in the evening, but with the caffeine, wouldn’t be able to drink. Taste was surprisingly weak, would use more tea leaves in future tastes.
1.25 tsp of teas, 1 “perfect spoon”
Preparation
Advent Calendar 2017, Day 6: Refreshing, a bit of spice. Had it hot, but might make a good iced tea.
Second steep was much lighter, but still drinkable.
1.25 tsp of teas, 1 “perfect spoon”
Flavors: Black Pepper, Licorice, Peppermint
