1113 Tasting Notes

I knew this wasn’t matcha before I bought it because the lady told me that it wasn’t matcha but ground Japanese green tea (she probably didn’t want to explain the process of tencha vs other types of tea).
Anyways, this is quite dark and very strong. This is a powdered tea I would not drink alone, though added with milk it is quite nice because it has that bold green tea taste that some matchas seem to miss because they taste too vegetable (green tea is more than just vegetable taste)
How does one grade a tea that is so good mixed but is rough alone???

Read this review twice because I’m 100% serious:

The taste of this tea captures the feeling of what it is like to work on your own car throughout the day and finish before the sun goes down so you get that chance to get some charcoal going and grill some burgers only to find yourself very satisfied with the taste of charcoal and smoke fill your mouth with all the juicyness of whatever you put on your burger.

This tea is that right there.

Smoke taste is on point with this one.

I hate to admit this:
This matcha is smoother, sweeter, and more satisfying than most all matchas I have drank…

While there might be sugar added to it, this taste just like a matcha latte should. I’m quite surprised and dislike how this takes away from the normal matcha experience, but I am unable to deny the flavor that this mix has or the experience that it provides.

This toasted cup of hojicha is fantastic. The smell is stronger than the taste but that is fine because the pear is the undertone in this tea. The main taste is the toasted green tea with a sweetness of honey. The touch of pear makes it all the better. If you know hojicha taste like and you’re prepared for this type of tea when you brew it, it is a wonderful drink to sip on.
I think pear was an excellent choice of fruit to accompany this tea with.

That sounds like Heaven in a cup!

Taste #1
O.o
I am going to drink this again tomorrow and try to create some sort of review… it’s just odd to drink a sugared powder tea that taste like oolong with peach (I can taste it all… which is good, but I’m still unsure)

Taste #2
This is a very interesting powdered tea! The peach is in control here and not the sugar or oolong. I am drinking this hot and I am really liking it. The peach is juicy but with the warm it creates the dryness to the fruit flavor as well. Overall this may just be one of the better powdered teas I have yet to try.

I think somebody else needs to try this and let me know if it really is as good as I am finding it to be. This upcoming week I shall make it iced :)

If this was a white tea only it would make me angry at how subtle it would be. However, the green tea adds a nice hint of difference in this tea. For what this tea is, it is great. Knowing what to expect when drinking any tea is important and since I knew that this would be very mild I found it to be quite pleasant. Still a little dry and just ‘so’ ‘so’ as far as tea goes.

Ubacat

Maybe a cold brew would bring out more flavour?

Liquid Proust

I’m not sure. White teas haven’t been my thing. I do have over a dozen 1oz unopened bags of this if you want some __
I ordered 1oz and ended up with 20oz

This is a decent green tea with fruity notes. However, as far as being a sencha goes it falls short from what I would expect in regards to vegetable taste. The fig also doesn’t match so well with the berry flavoring. While I enjoy this tea, I think it’d be much better without fig (I just wish I could remove the fig flavoring myself)

They might look beautiful but the taste is rather bitter and strong; almost as if they were sitting around in something funky.

Finally, my first pu’erh that does not taste like it smells. Th smell of pu’erh tends to always be rather strong to me and somewhat off putting. This loose leaf version of pu’erh is fantastic because it’s quite subtle tasting for the tea that it is. It keeps the integrity of a pu’erh but has a sweetness to it that normally is masked behind bolder flavors when teas are normally brewed. While I like the smoothness of this tea, the flavor itself lacks somewhat because it is subtle- while I like it, it does create a gap in the experiential part of pu’erh tea.

Perfume is a great way to explain this tea.
I wanted to review this tea the first time I drank it but I decided to hold off. The oolong pieces are rather twisty and look nice, but looks are not what makes this tea appealing. Between the green/vegetable oolong taste and the white peace, this tea taste very light and splendid. The rose flavoring is not very strong which is nice because a floral taste that takes over a tea makes it horrendous. I am thankful I got this tea, though it is hard to describe to anyone… it’s like drinking the smell of a light perfume, which doesn’t sound appealing but it really is. I have only been using 1-2g of tea to brew this so I look forward to adding a bit more to see what it would be like if it is stronger.
