737 Tasting Notes
After a super busy day at work, I thought I’d come home, drink tons of straight black teas and do nothing. xD
But..
Then I realized that I have a crap load of things to do. xD Sooo took a pain killer and while waiting for it to kick in I brewed up this tea!
Tis a good comfort tea. ^^
Got 50g of this one in the big Teavivre sale like a month ago.
Smelled like chocolate when I opened it, which is always good :P
The taste was kinda the same. Chocolate. And raisins too.
Chocolate and raisins….this tea would definitely go well with chocolate covered raisins. And guess what!
I have chocolate covered raisins in my cupboard…
I have a good idea hatching. :O
Flavors: Chocolate, Raisins
Okay-quick note!
This morning I woke up in tons of pain and couldn’t go back to sleep. Which kinda seems like an awful morning in a way since I didn’t wanna wake up so early on a day I could sleep in.
BUT!
It was freezing in my room this morning! And when I looked outside-much to my surprise it was cloudy and chilly!
I seized my opportunity to drink chai while it was cold out.
So I made this! ^^
On my second cup and it has been perfect for a chilly morning.
But now the sun is coming out again. >> Stupid SoCal…
Gonna take some pain killers and make a new tea. But this chai start of the morning was really nice. (:
It’s really nice to try and make the best of a seemingly bad start of the morning. Tea always helps! Thanks again, boychik! :D
Got a sample of this from the very generous, Boychik!
Wasn’t sure if I’d like this one since I’m not a super huge chai fan unless it’s cloudy and rainy (and it barely ever is here, sadly ><). So didn’t buy it, but been wanting to know what the hype was all about at the same time.
I honestly expected this tea to be super pumpkin-y or mainly just chai.
But I was pleasantly surprised!
Chai is usually really strong, and almost too strong sometimes. But the pumpkin in this tea really balances it out. It had a really good mix of both flavors.
Plus!
It’s pretty freakin’ cute with the little pumpkin sprinkles…or are they hearts? Kinda hard to tell. xD But I love tea with sprinkles in them…makes it so cute. xD
This may actually be the best pumpkin tea I’ve ever tried. Not sure if I will purchase any this year, but I have a close friend who would love this. Hopefully he will be in the states next year and if he is and this tea comes back again next fall I’ll totally get some for him. That’s a pretty for sure thing if it comes back next year. :P I’m sure that drinking the rest of this generous sample will help me decide about purchasing any this year though.
So happy I finally tried it! Definitely understand the hype! :D
Thank you so much for the sample, Boychik! :D :D
Flavors: Caramel, Pumpkin, Spices
Got a sample of this one from Christina in our swap!
It’s pretty caramel-y…but has a funky aftertaste that I’m not a huge fan of. It’s a good tea, but nothing I’d go out of my way for.
Glad I got to try it before I decided to try and buy it. Thanks, Christina! :D
Ehhhh just taste wood. Not a huge fan :S
Hahaha ;) If it makes you feel any better I had two teas (samples from Adagio Teas) tonight and didn’t like either… and now its late and I really can’t have more caffeine. That’s frustrating – lol. At least we can share in our misery :)
Thank you, Teavivre for sending me so many free samples! So excited about them!
This is the first one I’ll review. But to be honest, I feel like it’s not so much of an honest review. xD I steeped it for a little more than the time it says on Steepster, but even after that I just think that this one deserves to be steeped “grandpa style”. This would be GREAT to drink with the leaves constantly at the bottom of my mug.
I always seem to want floral-y oolongs to be stronger. Which is probably because I used to always steep everything (mainly oolongs though) grandpa style, before I even knew what that was or that there even were steeping times for things. xD
After I steeped it for the right time it tasted mainly buttery and light. So I decided to put the leaves in longer. After a few minutes I could taste the floral more. And since I really like the floral taste, it would be better “grandpa style” since that flavor emerges when it’s steeped longer..
So yeah. xD Sorry for the rant.
Basically!
I like this tea. But I wanna try it “grandpa style” because I know I’ll like it even more like that! Pretty good though. Happy to have tried it! :D
Thank you again, Teavivre for the samples!! :D
Got a Genmaicha from Mandy in a surprise package she sent to me a month or so ago. It’s from Enjoying Tea.
Actually was in the mood for genmaicha this morning too. Steeped it for like three minutes, and it’s still not very strong for some reason…
Not the best genmaicha that I’ve tried yet….
So my quest for the perfect genmaicha continues!
One of my favorite teas! The aroma as I bring that cup up to my mouth is enough to make me swoon! Mmmmmmm….
^^
