737 Tasting Notes
This is another tea that surprised me! But in a good way finally! XD
I picked up 50g of this tea in my first What-Cha order because I was sure I’d like it! Well I was finally right for once. xD
So the steeping aroma smelled pretty malty, which is always exciting!
When I began to drink, chocolate and cocoa notes emerged from the tea. And better yet, there was a soft undertone of sweet potatoes. All four amazing flavors in one!
I was honestly not expecting it to be that complex. I really enjoyed the layers of this tea. I really didn’t expect it at all.
It’s not very sweet, probably due to the chocolate, cocoa, and malt notes combined. But it still is quite nice. Really happy to have gotten 50g of this-definitely worth the money! :D
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Malt, Sweet Potatoes
Finished the last of my sample yesterday. Ah, it’s just so delicious!! I love it so much! ^^ Can’t wait to get more of this tea myself!! :D :D :D
Thanks to The Cookie Lady again! Keeps getting me hooked on these RoT teas! :D
So like…everyone that has reviewed this tea says how sweet and pineapple-y it is. But I didn’t really get any of that when I tried it. 0_0 The Cookie Lady generously sent me a sample because I’ve wanted to try this for so long! I was ridiculously excited, all up till the moment I actually tried it. xD
The Dry leaf and steeping aroma was a good sign, but I was not willing to believe it was all citrus-y. I just wanted to think it was like everyone else’s experience. D:
But sure enough the mail flavor I got was citrus xD Just my luck!
I pulled through that in hopes I’d get more than just citrus. Kinda got some flowery notes too, which I guess fit the name. But the citrus ended up getting to me and I gave up :(
Wish I’d have liked it, I really wanted to. Didn’t taste like pineapple to me at all. :( What a shame. :( Thanks for the sample though, The Cookie Lady! I’m really glad I got to try it still, even if I didn’t like it!
Flavors: Citrus, Flowers, Orange, Sour
And I really like pineapple, so it’s sad for me. XD Now my quest must continue to find a good pineapple tea.
have you tried the lupicia one? (it has coconut though, which is why it’s second in line after this one for me) also…den’s tea is supposed to have a kick as pineapple sencha…but i haven’t tried it yet…need to get it in a swap first.
So, I’m kinda disappointed in this oolong. I have tried a couple other “jade oolongs”, and most of them had a light floral taste and other light notes that I don’t remember. xD But nothing super strong.
I went into this one thinking that it would be like the others, but that was a mistake.
The dry leaves and steeping aroma smelled slightly of floral, which I had expected. But then when I went to take a sip all I tasted was butter. D: Like a lot of butter, not even mixed with anything else. It wasn’t as thick as some buttery teas are, but it was just enough for me not to want to finish the cup.
Ah buttery tasting teas are killing me lately xD This one was rather deceitful though, if you ask me. :P Not even a touch of floral in the taste.
So yeah, all that to say, I’m pretty disappointed with this one. Hoping that the black teas I ordered will make up for the oolongs that weren’t super amazing. I have a good feeling that they will though!
Flavors: Butter
Wow, I’m the first to review this tea here. Pressure. xD Just is kinda lame since I’m not a green tea fan, unless they are genmaicha or it’s a flavored tea that hid the grassy taste I usually get from green teas.
Added this to my last WP order because I was just under the free shipping mark and this was pretty cheap with the discount. I planned on trying it once and sending it off to Albertocanfly, who loves green teas. xD I’m sure she will give this a much better review!
First off, this is an adorable tea, I really love how it looks. It’s just so cute like the Golden Snail, except it’s green. _
Now for how it actually tasted; the first cup of this tea was super light. Steeped it the exact time that it said on the bag and I couldn’t figure out what it tasted like. I spent about ten minutes trying to just think of what that first cup tasted like. Finally I gave up and brewed up another cup, because I just had to figure out what it tasted like.
Steeped it for a bit longer and decided that it tasted a lot like spinach, just like the aroma when it was steeping. The second cup was stronger, but not too overwhelming. I love spinich, but in tea form it doesn’t really work for me.
All this to say, it was an alright green tea. I’d drink it if I were stuck with it. But I would rather send it to someone who I know will love it!
P.S. Albertocanfly, you should be super proud of me for trying another green tea! XD And I’m pretty sure you will love this one, then you can come back and write a better tasting note than this one! XD I’m sending this in your next package! :D

This was the first tea I got in my What-Cha order! :D I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a plain Four Seasons tea before. I have only tried an aged one and one mixed with another oolong. So those don’t really count.
I’ve really wanted to try one though, so thought I’d pick up a sample of it!
Not as good as I hoped it would be. At first I only tasted butter. Wasn’t overly strong, which was good. And it not being overly strong made me keep drinking the first mug of it. About half way through the mug I started getting floral notes. By the end of the cup there was a nice balance of both butter and floral. Wish there were more floral notes in this, but I’m glad that I didn’t give up after two sips. I think that I will enjoy the rest of my sample when I don’t want a super strong floral oolong. But I wouldn’t buy it again. Happy to have tried though! (:
Flavors: Butter, Floral
I was pretty excited about this tea, because I love chocolate covered strawberries. But when I brewed it up it just tasted like a black tea. No berries or sweetness. :( It was pretty disappointing. I don’t understand what went wrong…I steeped it for how long it said but it didn’t taste like chocolate or strawberry. Unless the chocolate tasted like the black tea base. But I am not sure that that’s the case. :/
Eh, oh well. One day I will find an amazing combo of those two flavors!
Thank you for the sample, Albertocanfly!
I recommend Lupicia’s Chocolate Strawberry Puerh, if you are looking for those flavored. It is nothing short of amazing!
Carol Who, I know right? So annoying! XD
And Sakura Sushi, I have heard that that’s good, just haven’t gotten around to picking it up yet :P
This was one of the teas I was most excited about in my last WP order! I love love love floral oolongs, and from TheTeaFairy’s note, this tea was pretty floral.
She was not wrong. xD
Tried this one yesterday and really enjoyed it.
Not too much butter notes, mainly floral, and orchard-like. That’s not a word. And I’m not really sure how to describe it. It’s just one of those teas that makes you feel awake and like it clears your senses. It’s refreshing and smooth. It reminds me of flowers and being outside, which I usually hate, but in this instance I think of it in a good way…But I just can’t describe it.
The first cup of it was really light, the second time I steeped it longer and it brought the floral notes out better. I really am going to enjoy the rest of this.
Probably won’t buy more just because I can get cheaper floral oolongs elsewhere. But I have really wanted to try this one and I’m so happy I did! I will savor the ounce I have of it! And maybe in a really good sale I’ll pick up more!
Lovely tea, and the color of the dry leaves is absolutely gorgeous!
Another fantastic tea from WP! :D
Also, this is my 500th tasting note! Woo! I thought that reviewing this tea would be pretty fitting since the first tea I ever reviewed was an oolong. So why not mark a milestone with another oolong? :P Definitely prefer this to Teavana’s Monkey Picked Oolong, which was the tea I first reviewed. Mann I really was missing out for so many years! XD Anyway yah for 500!!
Flavors: Butter, Floral, Flowers, Perfume, Smooth
Congrats on 500! And ah, I’ll deffo have to try this if they have it in stock (or a similar TGY) when I next do a WP order – they’re such exquisite teas!

Holy Shanghai!!
Another RoT that I am beginning to fall in love with! It feels like people usually give bagged teas a bad rep, but I keep trying RoT teas and end up really loving them! They make such excellent Dessert teas! _
I think I actually like this better than Lupicia’s version of a chocolate and banana tea. In Lupicia’s version you can taste the black tea base too much, and it’s incredibly easy to over-steep it, which sucks for me because I am infamous for over-steeping.
This tea has a rooibos base, and the chocolate and banana flavors are both strong enough to cover up the woody rooibos flavor.
Plus, this tea is decaf! Perfect on sooo many levels!
I can over-steep it, and it will be fine.
It’s the perfect blend of chocolate and banana.
It’s the perfect dessert tea to satisfy my dessert cravings.
Anddd it’s decaf!
Ahh this is a must buy on my list. Thank you sooo much for this sample, The Cookie Lady! You keep getting me hooked on RoT teas! :P
Flavors: Chocolate, Smooth, Sweet
The Cookie Lady was nice enough to send me a sample of this tea with her Christmas package I got the other day! I saw a few reviews of it last month and I really wanted to try it. xD I love genmaicha, and I am always eager to try another one.
This one is pretty good. Very popcorn-y. Reminds me A LOT of DavidsTea’s Genmaicha, but minus the actual popcorn pieces.
Don’t think it’s as smooth as Davids’ version though, which is kinda sad. A pretty good genmaicha still though! Glad I got to try it! Thank you, The Cookie Lady!! :D :D
Flavors: Popcorn, Toasty
