A sweet, mild apple scent is what greets you. For sipping, the apple is not too overpowering, and the coconut somehow compliments it nicely, lifting the apple up. I wasn’t expecting the two to mix so well, but I was surprised. This makes a nice Autumn tea.

drank Aries by Adagio Teas

This tea has a very pretty appearance in the tin. I love the little dots of red peppercorns! You can also see plenty of cloves, and that is mostly what you smell. You also get a strong clove flavor when you drink it. I love how intense the spiciness is! I didn’t add any milk or sugar to my cup. I happen to be an Aries, and I love this tea! It’s perfect for autumn and is one I will enjoy drinking over and over.

I received this tea as a sample from Adagio. I am a big fan of earl grey teas, but can be wary of vanilla or cream flavored teas. I thought this tea was okay, but I probably wouldn’t buy it to drink often. You get the creaminess on the finish, but it tends to linger which I don’t prefer.

drank Stress Less by Lipton

This tea is great for the evening and night to relax. The dominant smell is chamomile, but you still get scents of the lavender and cinnamon. The taste is mostly chamomile and lavender with cinnamon on the finish. Stress Less is a very comforting tea, especially if you drink it warm.

This tea has a lovely mix of citrus and floral flavors. It’s a smooth, easy drinking tea that is not too bitter. The tea comes in fine-mesh pyramids, but it is still easy to see the tea leaves, which are whole and not broken up or powdery. I enjoyed just smelling this tea right out of the canister. The calendula and mallow definitely set it apart from other earl grey teas I’ve had.

I purchased this tea while visiting the Boston Tea Party Museum on a trip to Boston. This tea has a deep color and smells like you’ve just open a fresh loaf of bread, with a hint of smoke. Once brewed, the color is a deep golden-brown. The flavor is smooth and not too bitter. In fact, it has a hint of sweetness to it. This tea would make a good everyday tea to have as an afternoon pick-me-up.

This tea has a beautiful dark green color to it. It smells like seaweed and has a freshness to the aroma. When brewed, the color is a nice, light green hue. It looks very delicate in the cup, but the flavor is strong, even after the recommended two-minute steep time. The flavor is earthy and bitter, yet super smooth. I really like how it lingers after I have tasted it. Because of the lingering taste, this is a tea that I can take my time drinking, which is a good thing in my book. One to be savored.

This tea was a medium green and had a sweet smell with a hint of grass. I prepared it according to the directions, using a bamboo whisk and scoop. The flavor was bitter, grassy and vegetal, and had a creamy mouth-feel. I wouldn’t say this is my favorite, but I would drink it again.

This matcha has a bright color and a nice grassy smell. I used a bamboo scoop to measure it, two scoops. I whisked it with 3 ounces of water at 175 degrees until frothy on top. This tea had a smooth, bitter flavor that wasn’t overwhelming. I also tasted the same grassy notes I smelled before making it. It was pleasant and bright, so far my favorite. I enjoyed my matcha with mochi. The grassy bitterness helped to cut through the sweetness of the mochi, while at the same time, the sweetness of the mochi made the matcha even smoother somehow. Afterwards, I felt calm, alert, and cheerful.

The initial smell of this tea is sweet and inviting. The color is also nice and bright. I made it according to the package directions. I used a chashaku to scoop the tea, 3 ounces of water at ~ 170 degrees, and a chasen to whisk the tea.
The tea was bitter and grassy as I expected, but it was very underwhelming. The flavor was not quite as strong as I had hoped it would be from just smelling it. Next time I will try to use 2 ounces of water to see if that makes a difference.
