This is very tasty. I love how green the dry leaves look. Delicious sweet floral flavor. I’m detecting melon and cucumber. There’s something like pastry in this. A sweet bakery aroma. Num. I really love the smell. Very refreshing. I’ll let you know how the caffeine treats me. :D usually whites make me really jittery and headachy. Black give me an alert shakey buzz. funny how different caffeine affects me differently. This tea is worth it though!

Really? No one else has logged this? Hm. Well first, thank you to Azzrian for this sample. Whatever i say about this tea, I am always grateful when people share so generously like Azzrian always does. :) At first I had intended to save this for winter because of the name but I really wanted an herbal and this was the only one I had at the office today.

It tastes exactly like vomit. Vomit all mixed up with bile and stomach acids. How does fruit and spice combine into this horrid flavor? I have no idea. I had to dump this.

Such a pretty tea though! It just wasn’t for me.

Azzrian

OMG really??? I don’t think I have even tried it yet but NOW I have to brew some up RIGHT away! I am sniffing it in the bag and it smells really yummy but OMG this sounds horrid! I have had a few taste this way to me from Adagio before so I believe you but dang lol so sorry to do that to you!
Going to steep some now.

Azzrian

Its cooling down a bit now but I smell that same smell that I did in that Adagio tea I hated and described in the same manner – then Kittenna wanted to try it and she felt the same way. This is very similar in smell. Will update after sipped.

Azzrian, every tea you’ve ever shared with me has been very tasty. I was beginning to think we had twin taste buds but then I had this tea… Haha. But if you haven’t tried this yet then maybe we are still taste twins after all! We need a yucky tea now and again to remind us how awesome our others teas are so it’s all good! I hope you do end up liking it though since you probably bought a good amount of it. :/

Azzrian

LOL I have about 40 grams of it still but its a heavy tea since it has a lot of “stuff” in it. I think I will suffer though. I was expecting it to be worse sure but I don’t think it will be a re-order. If it were not for that vanilla flavor I am getting I probably would not drink it. Lets just say this is an ODDITEA!
LOL

K S

Wow, I hope I never ever have to write a review describing tea this way. Egads!

Mercuryhime

I’m very curious what the product testers thought this tasted like because if it tasted like vomit or even vanilla-y vomit, they probably would never have tried to sell it. It does smell deceptively fruity and tasty though. Sneaky tea!

I have some of this yummy tea thanks to two very awesome people on Steepster – Amy Oh and MadelineAlyce! Thank you both awesome people! Steepster just seems to attract the most generous people.

My doggies and I went to the vet this morning. Poor things got their annual shots for various things. Vet said that Cali has an abnormally slow heart rate and an unusual rhythm. They want to do some more checking up next week. :( Then she said that we need to find out the closest emergency pet center in case he collapses due to insufficient oxygen. :( It’s so weird because he’s so much more hyper than the other dog. How can someone with boundless energy have an abnormally slow heart rate? :( He seems so normal.

While my mind isn’t completely put at ease, by this particular tea, I find that the bright lemon flavor and cute packaging is sorta helpful. I cold brewed this fantastic smelling tea overnight. I think I used a bit too much leaf, but that’s easily remedied by adding more water. It’s so delightfully refreshing and lemony. It really tastes like lemon! Like lemon zest! There’s also a bit of sweet marshmallow in the end of the sip that really makes this taste like a yummy lemon dessert. Like lemon meringue maybe. Tasty tea base as well! It’s supportive and grounding for the lemon flavoring.

I’m glad you like it! :D

drank Citron Oolong by DAVIDsTEA
525 tasting notes

I thought I already tried this one but when I tore open the bag, the strong lemon/orange aroma convinced me otherwise. I must have had this confused with one of their other oolongs. Anyways. I was expecting a subtle citrus with a creamy green oolong and slightly floral jasmine. Instead I got more jasmine flowers than tea and more lemon flavor than a lemon. I was not really a fan of this hot. It had a strong herbal flavor. So I chilled it with added water. Much better. Then I managed to get two cold brews with the same leaves. I’m going for one more overnight.

So this isn’t really the best lemon tea. I wanted to taste the oolong. But it’s alright hot but good cold. and its good for many infusions. So pros and cons. It is a very refreshing cold drink.

Edit: I just re-read this. I make no sense. But I’m tired so I’ll leave it. :P

Azzrian

I often make no sense – your post however makes sense to me.

So long as it’s not plans for a rocket, don’t worry how you babble. =)But if it is, congrats! You can work on the space station!

Haha. I wish. I think physics was the one subject I simply could not do well in in high school.

drank Perfect Pear by DAVIDsTEA

This doesn’t really remind me of pear so much as it reminds me of apple pear cheesecake. Or cream cheese frosting. It’s unpleasantly tart hot so I let it chill in the fridge for a few hours. Cold, this tastes both refreshing and decadent. It’s like fresh apple/pear juice but there also a creaminess that’s more tangy than just cream. So all combined it’s apple pear cheesecake. I enjoyed it. :)

Smells like strawberry cereal. Tastes a bit sour and astringent. Over brewed? Welly sample is gone now but in general I liked it okay. I had to add some sugar and milk to enjoy it though. Really tired. Might need more caffeine. Blaargh. Or chocolate. :)

I got a bit of this from TeaEqualsBliss and it is very tasty. This is a very smooth sweet tea with a kinda syrupy mouthfeel. The jasmine is elegant and sophisticated here with a slightly sunbaked grass flavor from the white tea base. The flavor of this tea is all innocence and grace. I hot brewed a cup and then used the same leaves in an overnight cold brew. Both were tasty. Every time I have a floral tea as well done as this, I can’t help but feel like a princess. But how can a princess be drinking tea in between doing dishes and feeding her dogs? Something’s not right! haha

In any case, thank you for sharing TeaEqualsBliss! It’s taking me forever to get to all the teas you sent me. And I still have all these teas from 52Teas’ grab bag sale. Then David’s Tea sent me a replacement for the Perfect Glass Mug* (because I broke the strainer) with samples of 3 teas, 2 of which I haven’t tried before! There’s untried teas up to my eyeballs! And a friend I work with claims I give him a lot of tea. hah! I only give him a small baggy full once a week or so. I’d give him more, but I’m afraid of revealing how large my tea collection actually is. People are already eying my DT perfect mug set with raised eyebrows.

*The whole set! ‘Cause they don’t sell the strainer part separately! For free! What excellent customer service! I feel bit bad about it, but hey, free mug! I’m giving it to my sister since she admired it when she saw mine. No strainer for her though. I needs it for my tea!

My co-worker tea buddy swears he is never going to buy tea again – as long as we are working together. I beg to differ if he doesn’t learn to like green and puerh tea soon :p

Mercuryhime

Yum! Green and puerh! What’s not to like?

drank Jasmine Grey by 52teas

I think I’m not really a fan of the sencha Frank usually uses. It gets astringent too easily and has that indescribable flavor that i just don’t like in some Chinese senchas. That thick mineral-y flavor. Bleh. To be fair, most flavored senchas I’ve tasted seem to have an even worse base tea. And their flavors don’t come close to being as good as those you can get from Frank. And this tea makes a lovely spring green brew. And after that freezing subway ride to work, any hot tea is welcome.

The flavoring here is quite tasty. I’m of the opinion that citrus and jasmine are lovely together. This is a light floral flavor with a hint of underlying bergamot. Subtle sweet flavoring. It was probably stronger before. I think this blend is a bit aged. :)

Second steep is mostly just green tea with just a hint of jasmine.

Nice tea for a warming up after a chilly morning commute. Thank you for sharing TeaEqualsBliss!

I know I’ve written about this tea so many times, but each time I have it it’s like a new wonderful experience. The first sip is a bit of an autumnal toasty surprise. Then the fruity lychee and peach hit you. You enjoy your cup, sip after sip. It’s delicious. Then you put your empty cup down and go about your business. Minutes later, you realize you can still taste the tea in your mouth. So delicious still! Autumnal lychee. It’s the perfect point where late summer and early autumn intersect. Lovely lovely tea.

I rarely log a tea more than once. Even more rarely more than twice. I don’t know how many times I’ve logged this tea, but it just hit me today how lovely this tea is. It’ll probably do this every time.

Had it cold brewed today. It’s really tasty this way.

If you love a tea you should drink it often!

Yes, quite a strong lemon flavor. Too strong. Like chemicals. Like pine and lemon cleaning product. Perhaps I cold brewed too long? It was not pleasant. My husband refuses to waste the pitcher and plans to drink the rest with copious amounts of sugar. fortunately I have I good supply of other tasty lemony greens.

Sorry this was wasted on me TeaEqualsBliss. :(

TeaEqualsBliss

DOH!!!!! Sorry :(
Excellent use of the word Copious, tho! LOL :)

Mercuryhime

Don’t get me wrong! I’m grateful to have tried it. Variety is the spice of life! Thanks for sharing. :)
And “copious” is one of my pet words. :)

TeaEqualsBliss

Excellent :)
Yeah…I just had one of those tea encounters myself! LOL :)

Bio

I came from a tea drinking family, but I never appreciated the different qualities and varieties of tea until older. All that time wasted! But I guess I needed to be mature enough to appreciate the tea experience. :)

My favorite teas are green oolongs and white tea. I also love greens, especially gyokuro. I have a huge appreciation for rooibos and honeybush as they are often that only thing I can drink in the evening. I am a relatively new convert to black teas. This is unfortunate for my wallet but extremely wonderful for my palate. :)

In any case, I have a love for both flavored and unflavored teas. They are different experiences for sure, but both enjoyable. I find that it often depends on my mood.

I am on a quest to find a tea that will win my husband over. I think I’m making some headway…
