557 Tasting Notes
I had a cup of this last night and a cup of this in the morning even though I am just getting around to saying so. Rich and kinda sweet. Not too complex this time which was nice because I didn’t want something ultra complex, but unexpected since I can normally taste two-three different notes. My tongue must not be up to par yet. Too much cocoa. Lol.
Now I get to raid my mom’s Earl Grey because I am out and I want some. I swear the decaf tastes different than the normal one, but that could just be me right now. My tastebuds have been being weird this morning. Even my honey nut cheerios didn’t taste right.
My mom got me some more almond milk as a surprise. Yay. It is the unsweetened kind though so I have to remember that it is a little harsh when I have it plain. But she tries so hard to remember what I like. I love her and I tell her this often.
Apparently I still want this tea. I always develop a taste for it and only it when I am not feeling well. But the good news is that I am feeling better. I have two more days of medicine and then hopefully I will be back to normal (and indulging in some choice oolongs!)
I’m feeling a little big better today. I think I am feeling good enough to actually break out the gunpowder green later today. That’s exciting. I haven’t had a proper cup of loose leaf in a few weeks.
According to Think Geek, this month is National Tea month. I think that is kinda cool and a good excuse to write an actual tea blog post sometime this month.
I decided that it was time for tea. I have been feeling better today which means I have been drinking less water, juice, and tea overall. I still need to drink more liquids though.
This is just what I was looking for. Slightly buttery and a tiny bit fruity at the end of the swallow. Nice and light and refreshing, but I can still taste what it is supposed to taste like.
I forgot to say that I was feeling well enough to drink something that wasn’t sugared last night. My ears popped and I was so relieved that I sat down with a good mug of Earl Grey with milk.
So far, my ears are staying popped and that makes me happier. Now if only I can get my cough to go away.
I broke into this one a couple of days ago to drink with my fiance. I brewed it for a minute and then poured out a glass for each of us.
I was expecting this to be overwhelmingly smokey, but this surprised me. There is a little hint of smoke and a slight sharp astringent quality. But there is this nice light sweet taste to it that was just calling to me. The taste is nice and grassy. Almost a little spinachy. It just tastes green.
I brewed another steep today for about a minute and a half and added sugar. Oh my! This is going to replace my hot chocolate cravings for a while with that extra sugar. It brings out the natural sweetness of the tea and the smoke takes on an extra quality to it. It reminds me of fresh vegetables. I bet this would be wonderful brewed up, sweetened, and then iced. Yum.
