I am not impressed. Dry it smells like loads of oranges, so I used two teaspoons for my DIY tea bag and… not impressed with results after 5 minutes steep.

It is quite generic fruity, tends to oranges a bit, but certainly noticed hibi and rosehips. It wasn’t much fresh oranges as I have hoped, nor any other citrus fruits. Why there are in sprinkles?

Sprinkles?! No way! Did you know that a Buck’s Fizz is a British cocktail suited for day drinking?

Not to be confused with the British pop group that won us Eurovision in the 80s, Bucks Fizz is a very simple cocktail that is synonymous with brunch culture, weddings and basically any party where you want to drink early.

But what actually is Bucks Fizz and how is it different to a mimosa?

Yes, a mimosa also contains Champagne and orange juice, but in equal measures. Bucks Fizz contains more fizz, and just a small amount of juice to dilute. Bucks Fizz was actually invented first, then the mimosa was invented a few years later in Paris.

Where is Bucks Fizz from?

Named after the place it was invented, the Bucks Fizz was created in 1921 by a barman at London’s Buck’s Club. So there!

I had no idea! Mostly because I never been much friend of coctails. It seems though very easy to make, though getting champagne would make it bit expensive.

Then I don’t understand the overall fruity profile and not oranges :(

I love cocktails very much and with COVID, miss meeting friends for happy hour. You have to wonder sometimes who comes up with these tea names, don’t you? In the U.S., champagne has a wide range of prices, high to low, and often restaurants will serve a cheaper champagne when mixing it with orange juice because most people will not notice OR care-especially after 3 or 4. lol

I really don’t know anything about cocktails, but I have definitely never heard of this one! I teresting story behind it.

I had a mimosa by accident once. I was at anthropologie at Myrtle Beach with Superanna one Mother’s Day and they were serving tiny cupcakes with glitter dust (yes, real plastic glitter dust) and mimosa’s, but I hadn’t heard of them and thought it was orange juice, and paired with a super sweet cupcake, it was awful! I told Superanna it was the worst orange juice ever but perhaps it was the pairing and she laughed and told it was probably a mimosa! A few minutes later, I heard a sale clerk telling a man that his children were welcome to take a Mother’s Day cupcake but not the drink! Ha ha!

Great story, ashmanra. Mimosas are usually bad because cheap champagne plus semi-bitter orange juice concentrate equals a subpar drink. Cheap to make which is why they are so often served as a ‘bottomless’ brunch drink. : P

Trying to rate differently tea bags and loose leaf as tea bags have usually worse quality.
