Ah, this tea. I was craving something sweet. Nothing much at home (if I don’t count Christmas cookies) and I wanted another hot mug of tea. I was looking to my fruit teas. Nada. White and green teas. Nothing sounded good for me. Herbals… many herbal herbals, but I found I put this one there. I remember receiving two tea bags from Michelle, but one was drank once upon a time, but second one I was keeping. And today the time for it has come!

I read a few notes, opened the tea bag wrapper and my nose was struck with chocolate-boozy-chocolate topping by Hershey’s, notes. The last metioned I actually had, but I could be 7 years old or so. But this brought me back memories. Aroma memory is pretty strong if you ask me.

I decided to steep it for suggested (by others) 10 minutes and honestly, it was still fairly same, but amazingly done! Exactly that topping aroma, rich chocolate flavour, quite sweet without sweetener and little boozy flavour.

Not a tea I would crave often, but I think I would buy a box if I would be in HEB store.
Thanks a lot, Michelle!

I love this variety!

Michelle

This is a bit boozy, isn’t it. For some reason this is not in every HEB store, only the biggest and most posh, so sometimes I have to hunt for it. And when I find it, usually its mostly gone from the shelf and there are only a few boxes remaining! Glad it hit the spot and I will go make myself a cup too!

I will start with song pairing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jne9t8sHpUc

Yep, it is 5.45 pm (about 12 and half hours since I woke up) and I am drinking a tea with name Good Morning! Same as 3 years ago, I wonder why it is called this way, when it does not contain anything what should wake me up. Ironic tea.

And moreover, it tastes like a plain peppermint, this time with bitter aftertaste (not sure which ingredient causes that), little bit reminding me dandelion root.

Fine, but not what I would look for in stores, unless someone loves roosters or is rooster by Chinese horoscope (and that person is into astrology).

This should be Panettone flavoured and honestly I got nothing from it.
Actually, I feel it is a bit flat in flavours; little spicy black tea. Citrus notes? Not so much.

Fine, but not memorable either. Or I just don’t remember even recently drank tea?

I had it yesterday in the morning and honestly I don’t remember much, but it was smooth with jasmine notes and fruity. And overall very floral.

But it wasn’t memorable though.

Cozy, unoffensive fruit tea, with nice flavours, of oranges and red apples. With a little spice note to make it a bit festive.

Not much tart at all, actually quite smooth and fine. But somehow maybe too simple?

Another advent intermezzo.
And not sure if this is correct one (my pouch have 1SPL instead of CH), but who cares anyway? Thank you Leafhoper for sending tea my way. So many interesting ones, at least based on their names and visual.

I have decided for this one, because mostly Sourenee says nothing to me and I was craving plain black tea without much complexity as I am not able to pay attention to them anyway. Prepared western, 2 tsp, 300 ml mug.

Honestly it is very not complex and overall I feel I am missing something! I have very same experience as Leafhopper do, notes of raisins, malt, rye bread, a little tannic as well. It is mouthcoating, but it doesn’t last long and all the notes are somehow mixed together.

Not much memorable tea to be honest.

Sadly, not being memorable seems to be the case with many of my spring 2022 Darjeelings. Sorry about the mix-up.

It’s fine. Not all teas must be winners. Also the mistakes happen.

I remember really loving a Sourenee from Lochan years ago. It’s too bad this one isn’t great.

Yay, for once I am not the first one who writes a tasting note about Nabo advent!

Honestly, this one turned bitter as well, but differently and mostly because my, rather long, steeping time. My father filled my mug, told me that I have tea ready, but I had an idea what to write to topic: Logistical centre and offered services and when I finished the sentence / paragraph, it was maybe 4 minutes at least. I went to take the tea out, but it damage was already done.

But even it was steeped for longer period of time and thus bitter, it wasn’t bad. The clove was predominant note from the flavors, followed by star anise. I did not notice any vanilla at all. Little cardamom in the background.

Overall it was quite robust and strong tea, which boosted me with energy and mood to work on more topics today. And although it’s ten pm now, I am about to write, at least, one another. I feel I am in the productive flow and I don’t want to miss it out.

It’s all good! Calm your nerves. is today Sonnentor advent tea and it couldn’t come in better timing for me. Everybody stressed about upcoming holidays and everything must be cleaned up, everything must be perfect and… my time for finals is running out.

I started to prepare topics for my finals for last subject and honestly it made me so sick! Moreover my brother was annoying me with his tablet, where he was playing some stupid game with sounds on and overall I felt like I was on pins and needles.

This tea didn’t helped me with psychical state too much, moreover it was very hoppy and bitter, which I usually don’t mind; but this time it was just too much. Last time I noticed lavender but not this time.

Ugh… those topics are so…

You can do it Martin! and maybe pick out a more calming tea too.

Martin Bednář

Thanks for encouragement Michelle!

Nattie

When you’re stressed every little thing is 100 times more annoying than usual! I hope you can relax and enjoy the holidays without being too worried about your finals. I’m sure you’ll do great!

A little intermezzo between Advent teas.
I was craving for puerh. I assume because the weather outside. So I did. Picked one I received from Michelle and she got it from Rich and it was just random.

Honestly not sure what was wrong, but, this tea certainly did not amazed me at all, and I do not notice anything of “good notes” in this tea from 2007. It was just classic shu notes, mushroomy and woody, quite earthy as well. But nothing distinctive, rather quite heavy in taste and a little sourness in the end of each sip.

Probably not what I was looking for. But that is fate of teas which were chosen random.

I think I had to steep the hell out of it to get a decent 20 minute steep cup.

Martin Bednář

Oh dear. But I am somohow glad I am not onlyo ne who found it unappealing.

Okay, this has got very same ingedients as Raspberry Summer Rosemary by TakeT. TakeT doesn’t claim it is their blend, so maybe Nabo gives them a source or vice versa. Who knows? But, Finnish company buying from Swedish? Doesn’t seems to be true (joke alert).

Anyway, this feels a bit fruitier than that one, more raspberry, but it is well hidden under the rosemary and thyme in my opinion. I am also not sure if I notice the base, but there some grassy, hay notes.

I want more raspberries. Right here, in the winter, I want to nib fresh raspberry.

Trying to rate differently tea bags and loose leaf as tea bags have usually worse quality.
