I got 7 grams from derk, thank you! (More since you liked it. Ehm, indeed :) )

Took two and prepared grandpa (heresy, I know!). Turned out again great, with few weak notes. Strong notes are certainly floral, bit of lilac and elderflowers;

Notes aren’t green at all (as I have somehow expected), it is again full of flowers, mild, creamy. Liked it!

Flavors: Creamy, Floral

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 2 g 10 OZ / 300 ML
ashmanra

I love Wenshan Baozhong! I have a yixing dedicated to it!

derk

I’ve been working on sipping this down here and there. It definitely lacks the vibrancy it once did but I’m still happy with it and more importantly, I’m happy you’re happy with it, Martin. Happy.

Martin Bednář

Derk: I have just read your comment laying in bed, checking the emails. It is somehow so deep it made me almost burst out crying. I don’t know why. I am not being happy recently, or I am that stressed out that I can’t enjoy that somebody wants me happy or…

Thank you… I am sending tea-hapiness to others but I don’t expect somebody else can do that! for me.

Now, let’s study.

derk

I have a lot I want to say but can’t seem to get it out properly other than through somebody else’s word: this too shall pass.

Martin Bednář

I hope so! It’s exhausting. I prefer being alonem, doing everything on my own and then I can’t even appreciate that somebody else can do something to me.

Got this one in the morning and now it is 6 pm. I guess today was kind of busy. I had a lecture in the morning, then I had to defend my semster thesis.

Hmm, and I supported local tea shop/room in my University thesis. I bought another package of Guria Likhauri and a T-shirt with their motive. Spend so much… but it is still only a little in their rent. I hope they won’t close down! I have spoke quite a lot with the owner, the rent is quite high — owner let them to don’t pay two rents, but now it is getting more serious for him too.

But to this tea from United Kingdom. It is wonderful in my opinion. Fresh apples, strong on cinnamon, as strudel should be! I as well noticed pastry flavour, which was kind of amazing! I miss bit raisins, but as I know there are people who hate them…

And if you are afraid it is a rooibos – no reason for that ! It’s not woody at all and can’t imagine other base than it.

Yummy!

Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Pastries

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 10 OZ / 300 ML
derk

Does this mean you are done for the semester?

"Youngest"

Congratulations on your thesis defense, how do you feel about it?

Martin Bednář

@derk: It means that lectures are over and now exam period starts!
@"Youngest": How do I feel? Well, little step for Martin, and even smaller for exam. I have to pass another “big” exam from majority of subjects. In English I have passed “credit” (but I don’t know if it works in US) and now exam comes.
So I usually have to pass two exams to pass the subject.

But of course I am happy that I made it! Only few those “small” left and then “big” ones only! So far it is going quite well!

Nattie

Good luck in your exams! I’m sure you’ll do great (:

Martin Bednář

Thank you Nattie!

This is weird tea.

Mostly it won’t brew much and it should be rose and peach. I notice mostly rose. And when I took my two tea spoons, there was really lots of sprinkles in heart shape.

In taste it was quite hay like – tea base was quite boring. And it was very perfumey, honestly didn’t like it. Haven’t noticed any peach, rose was there and somehow okay.

But I am not a fan of this blend.

Flavors: Hay, Perfume, Rose

I tried this one again.

Ohh, much better! The raspberry flavour is top notch, as well the cake one. Creamy; and well present base tea too! Yummy!

Ooh I might dig out this one today

Received a tea bag sample with my order.
Unfortunately, I knew I tried it before and wasn’t much impressed.

But, it is evening and I wanted another caffeine free tea.

Again, I wasn’t impressed.
Woody taste with mostly ginger prominent. Cinnamon so weak :( , no vanilla sweetness. As a latte it is maybe better; but I prefer my teas plain.
70 is accurate.

Flavors: Ginger, Wood

drank Fruit Kiss by Teekanne
1845 tasting notes

There was a a Teekanne gift assortment in my family cupboard and today I wasn’t really into experiments. Mreover, I had that cool tea from Pfanner, so I decided to brew something simple. Ugh.

Not a fan of this blend. Strong artificial cherries and little of strawberries. In aroma. Taste was really off, rather mostly hibiscus — tart. I miss some creamy notes! Strawberries were non present here as well. And it was as well somehow sweet, kind of stevia sweetness? (It’s not there!)

Blah.

Flavors: Artificial, Cherry, Tart

As a bottled “ICED” tea… certainly not a bad choice.

Ironically, it is one of the most expensive ones. But I enjoy it is not with sugar. So it is not awfully sweet.

It is cloudy, brown. Visual is bad.. taste is basic; quite bitter, hay and buttery. Okay, it’s not that tasty much. But as caffeine booster and without sugar… great tea!

I needed a strong and simple flavoured tea.

And what is simplier than an Earl Grey?

Honestly, I am bit sad that it doesn’t contain any citrus pieces. It would make the blend nicer. And only Assam is whole leaf, rest is CTC or BOP tea :(

But blend aroma is wondeful! I notice fresh citrus — bergamot notes. It smells nice and not artificial.

Taste — well the base is indeed well present, quite malty… maybe too much. I noticed as well nice grape notes — similar to Georgian tea. And bergamot flavour? It is just right! Not overpowering, but noticeable in the taste. Could be bit more stronger, or as I wrote before, more citrus notes by zests for example? I don’t know, I am not a tea mixologist. Roswell Strange, could it work?

Flavors: Bergamot, Grapes, Malt

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 10 OZ / 300 ML

SIPDOWN as a thermos tea

I prepare it in thermos as I was going to inventory check, but unfortunately didn’t had much time to drink it. I was thinking it is clove heavy, but apparently they are not in.

But almonds as well, but based on taste of brewed tea… I am afraid they went rancid. It was highly unenjoyable and bitter as well. Moreover, only lukewarm when drinking it.

I won’t lower the rating with this one unpleasant experience, but I see that I overall didn’t liked this tea so much.

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 tsp 0 OZ / 0 ML

I’ve noticed a couple of B&B’s teas go bad quickly compared to others

Martin Bednář

Nattie: I have similar experience. Some are good fresh, but they remain fresh for only few weeks. Maybe my small samples go bad faster than bulk?

At least I am staying at home so I can drink down lots of teas!

Nattie

Maybe. A lot of my B&B teas are still good years later, but some go bad in a couple of months… I wonder if it’s one of the ingredients…

drank Mango & Banana by Jaf Tea
1845 tasting notes

This tea is actually better than I have expected.

I don’t know if the mango and papaya flavours are right; but certainly some fruit ones which are tropical. I mean, it was quite similar to banana and mango, but not distinctive enough to say: Oh, have I took a bite of banana/mango? But it is flavoured just right (and not feeling artificial) and base tea is still very present too, although no notes from tea itself. Not tannic or astringency, but without it it would be somehow bland.

Quite surprised with this one.

I am drinking almost everything. Tea bag collector who moved to wonderful world of loose leaf.

Trying to rate differently tea bags and loose leaf as tea bags have usually worse quality.
