drank Dawn by The Simple Leaf

My order from The Simple Leaf arrived today and I’m so excited to try this tea! I’ve been reading some really fantastic reviews about this tea on Steepster, so my expectations are high.

The aroma is amazing. I can smell the hint of cocoa, and there is a deep earthy undertone to it as well… almost smoky, but not quite. I think I’d describe it as a roasted characteristic – kind of like roasted cacao beans.

The flavor is remarkable. Very smooth. Honey-like sweetness with an appealing cocoa note. Lovely, complex, and absolutely delightfully delicious.

I thank each and every one who had reviewed this tea previously – it was your reviews that inspired me to try it, and I’m so very glad that I have.

I have this at home and have yet to try it! Honey and cocoa? Yummy!

Yes! Another convert!

Stephanie: The flavor is amazing! You really must try!

I really must get this one. I need to finish off some of the teas I already have first though.

I managed two very flavorful infusions of Dawn. I tried for a third, but unfortunately, the leaves were quite spent and the flavor of the resulting tea was quite weak.

I’m finishing the last of this sample that I procured from Adagio. I think that this may just be the best cup of this yet! The aroma is nice – strong black tea, but a nice lingering essence of the citrus as well.

The flavor is that of a strong black tea. Adagio uses a Ceylon unlike any other that I’ve encountered – most Ceylons tend to possess a smooth, mild character but this is much more robust, with hints of a somewhat smoky character, and even a little malt. Not a bad thing – just different.

The flavor of the tangerine still competes a bit with the strength of the tea base, but, as I drink it, the flavor develops. A pleasant sweetness, very nice!

A little bit of a backlog here – I started my morning with this instead of my Breakfast Blend. My allergies are in full swing and I needed to start fighting them immediately.

Nice, bright flavor. More importantly, my eyes don’t itch now, and neither does my throat. I am feeling so much better!

Oolong time!

This is absolutely my favorite Oolong. So good! Sublime!

The aroma is arresting – floral notes with the slightest vegetative tone. The flavor is buttery, rich, smooth – a delightful, satiny, thick mouthfeel. Just… YUM!

I wrote a review for this tea back in September for the Tea Review Blog:

I have been enjoying many infusions of these leaves – I’m currently on my fourth! Each infusion is so very flavorful.

drank Ginger Peach by Tea Guys

Just trying this tea for the first time. I received the order a couple of weeks ago… in that order I also received the Papaya Ginger which I absolutely loved so this one kind of got overlooked!

It’s very good. One of the better ginger peach teas I’ve tasted. The ginger does not overwhelm the cup and the peach is sweet and very delightful. The flavors are well balanced and the tea flavor is brisk and lively. Muscatel is very complimentary to the peach notes.

I’ll have to write a review on the Tea Review Blog about this one!

drank Breakfast Blend by Liber Teas

My morning cuppa. Yes… I realize it’s noon, but, I just woke up so… this is my morning!

Smooth yet robust enough to help me shake off the slumbers and face the day! I generally add just a dollop of honey and sometimes a splash of warmed milk, but this time, I’m not going latte – just honey. And it’s oh so good! The vanilla is soft, I really like how this flavor develops in the cup. Starts out soft, and continues to build as I make my way down to the last drop.

This isn’t my favorite blend from Mighty Leaf (that would be Orange Dulce), but I like it alright. I wish that the chocolate essence was stronger, or at the very least, that the mint flavor was as powerful as the aroma. The mint is lively, I just think it would be a bit better if it were more pronounced.

So this one is just alright. It’s a decent way to indulge in a little chocolate without all the caffeine that a better chocolate tea would have.

Perhaps I’ve just spoiled myself when it comes to chocolate teas, and expect that all chocolate teas should taste as good as mine. haha!

Well, I just sold the very last of this that I had available for sale, so I’m down to my own personal stash! To celebrate, I decided to brew a cup! YUMMY!

This is without a doubt my favorite chocolate tea. I probably sound biased as I say that, but, really, this is the tea that started it for me because I was trying to recreate a tea that I had fallen in love with many years ago, and the place where I got it went out of business. I tried a lot of other chocolate blends along the way, and a lot of others since then – many are good, some are VERY good… but none are as good as this. THIS is as good as it gets. Period!

Smooth, rich, creamy, delicious! LOVE IT!

Oh you tease us with this review! ;) If it’s not available anymore, we won’t be able to try it’s chocolate-y goodness! So many chocolate-flavored teas are more cocoa-like than chocolate. I hope someday you’ll consider creating more!

drank Kilinoe by Narien Teas

Brewing my last of this tea from Narien. I’m a bit sad that it’s my last! It’s really good.

Has a mild sweetness that is pleasant. Not a strong vegetative presence. It reminds me a bit of a yellow tea rather than a green tea. No astringency, no bitterness – just a very lovely, smooth tea that is absolutely delightful. I am going to miss this one a lot!

LiberTEAS

Enjoying my second infusion of this tea now. There is a nice, buttery flavor that comes through this time around. Lovely, lovely!

drank Allergi-TEA by Liber Teas

Since allergy season has arrived (for me, anyways), it’s time for me to break out the artillery and fight the symptoms. I love my Allergi-TEA.

It has a clean, peppermint-y flavor. More importantly though, is that it really helps with the symptoms. I add a dollop of raw, locally harvested honey which also helps considerably.

So, along with my daily Oolong, this will be a daily tea for me for a while!

This sounds so good! My someone special has really bad allergies. Honey helps w/ allergies? Interesting.

LiberTEAS

the honey should be raw and locally harvested. Since the bees will collect the pollen from the local plants that are causing the allergic reactions, by using the locally harvested, raw honey, you are taking in a little of the pollen, in turn, allowing the body to build an immunity to those pollens.

Wow! I learned something new. Cool! I’ll pass this info along to Grant. =D

I ♥ NewYorkCiTEA

The farmer’s market opens here this Saturday and I’ll be picking up some local honey then. The husband is convinced that the local raw milk helps with his allergies.

LiberTEAS

chrine: that is possible too. I didn’t think of that!

DoorMouse

This tea sounds amazing, though where can I get some? Also LiberTEA your side links aren’t working. =(

LiberTEAS

My teas are no longer available for sale. I closed the door on my business a few years ago. Thank you though! The links appear to be working now… at least to me they are … are they still not working for you?

The reason I’m no longer writing for SororiTea Sisters is because I am now the Mad Tea Artist for 52Teas:

I’ll still be posting occasional reviews on teas here on Steepster, mostly backlogged reviews because I’m way behind on getting reviews posted. That’s why I’m keeping two accounts active at the current time – so that I can get those backlogged reviews posted.

My favorite teas are Yellow Teas with most Oolong teas at a close second. As far as “flavored” teas go, I love Earl Grey, Chocolate and Jasmine teas.

I also am intrigued by flavored teas with an unusual or unique flavor combination, which is why I was very excited to be the Mad Tea Artist of 52Teas!
