4843 Tasting Notes
I love this tea. I’ve been drinking it at least once a week over the past few months since I got the tin, and now it’s nearly gone … and this is my first tasting note about it. Like I said before, I’m behind! So this one note shall serve as about 15 – 20 tasting notes in one.
The bergamot of this Earl Grey is a softer bergamot – not an in your face bergamot taste. This allows me to enjoy the fruitier qualities of the bergamot. Not at all soapy or perfume-y … I like the way the bergamot is represented in this Mount Gray.
The black tea is rich and pleasant. Overall, the cup is smooth, slightly acidic from the citrus, and very flavorful. I like this one!

I love Li Shan and Ali Shan Oolong teas – they are my favorite types of Oolong tea (although there are a couple of other ones that come close.)
This is sweet, creamy and LUSH. Very smooth – no sharpness, very little astringency, and absolutely not bitter. The astringency is so barely there that if you’re just casually sipping, you won’t notice it … it’s only when I’m really focused on the nuances of this cup that I detect the slight hint of astringency.
I got 10 infusions out of this tea – and it was well worth that effort! Delicious!
A really delicious green tea. Unique in flavor … this isn’t your usual green tea! It has a flavor to it that is almost “juicy” … sweet and fruity! I tasted notes of cucumber and watermelon, just as it was promised in the description. Awesome!
This isn’t a really thick or what I’d call a “brothy” type of tea … this is more crisp, light and refreshing. I like this tea best when it’s cooled slightly because the flavors really pop.
I really like the combination of dates and Se Chung Oolong. The Oolong has a sweet, slightly toasted flavor that melds with the date flavor in a really delicious way. Sweet, slightly smoky, a little bit nutty … really good!

I liked this tea quite a bit … even better than the lifesavers candy. To tell the truth, I’m not big on the Butter Rum flavored lifesavers, but, the idea of dropping a butter rum lifesaver into a cup of black tea … now that sounds yummy. (I’d also go for a Werther’s candy in my black tea.)
I know I’ve said it before, but I’m going to say it again. I love the changes that 52Teas made to it’s black tea base. Before, it was a bit harsh (depending upon what flavors it was blended with) and since the change … I’ve not had an issue with the harshness at all. And as I typed that, I couldn’t help but wonder how these flavors might taste with just a touch of Lapsang Souchong in the blend. A smoky Butter Rum. You could call it Grandpa’s Butter Rum! My grandpa didn’t smoke pipes or cigars, but, whenever I think of pipe smoke, I think of a grandpa-ish type dude.
Anyway … here, the black tea is bold and rich and flavorful … a good base for the flavoring of butter rum.
I love the vanilla in this tea, it gives the cup just the right amount of creaminess. The overall cup is smooth, rich, delicious and delightfully Butter Rummy.
I’m not a huge fan of raisins, mind you. I mean, I like them alright, but, they aren’t something I’d actually buy unless I have a recipe that calls for them and I didn’t think the recipe would do well with a Craisins substitute. However, I was intrigued by this Raisin flavored Matcha from Red Leaf Tea. Not only is it kind of a rarity to find a raisin flavored tea, but, occasionally, I’ll find a black tea that has a raisin-y quality to it and I really enjoy that … so I thought, you know, I’m going to try the Matcha.
I mean, I thought about how the sugary sweetness of the dried fruit might meld quite nicely with the buttery, sweet, vegetative taste of Matcha. And as I sit here typing this, I am also thinking that it would go really well with the black Matcha as well … so I think that once I get my tea stash under some semblance of control, I might be placing that order! YUM!
This Matcha reminds me a bit of the Fig Matcha, and that’s not a bad thing at all because I LOVED the fig matcha!

I really like Driftwood Tea … they’ve become one of my favorite sources for Oolong teas because their quality is top notch … and with this tea they proved to me that they also have some really exceptional green teas as well.
The leaves are fluffy – reminiscent of a high quality Silver Needle, but it isn’t a silver needle … it’s a Mao Feng! Light, grassy, vegetative, delicate, sweet, nutty … a really, really good tea.

A very unique Oolong – different is good! Sweet, mild, fruity … with a hint of sour to provide an interesting sweet and sour experience.
Notes of flower in the distance, but this is much more a fruity tea than a floral tea. Definitely one worth trying if you’re an Oolong fan! And the price is right!

A good, strong, HEFTY cup o’ tea! The leaf is a fine chop CTC that produces a really rich, hearty cup of tea that is gonna give you the kick in the pants that you need to get you going in the morning. Maybe not the best cuppa for a Sunday when you want to just kick back and relax, but a great Monday Morning cuppa!
What I liked best about this is that while it was good and strong, it wasn’t too harsh or edgy. A lot of flavor. Smooth yet invigorating. I like it!
Having a cup of this tea this evening. Still just as lovely as I remember it. Crisp, sweet, with delightful fruit notes.
A really nice body for a white tea … fruit notes that are at one moment plum-like and the next, I notice notes of apricot. Just a slight, drying sensation toward the end leading into the aftertaste that is sweet with honeyed notes.
