1299 Tasting Notes
I feel like Steepster ate my past review of this tea hmm… So here’s a mini recap + the new review
Anyway, when I went to Tea Chai Te some time ago the woman working there was really kind. I decided to wait to order until my friend arrived and he had driven to the wrong location so I was there a good long while. She brought me out a small cup of this tea prepared with milk and honey since it was her favorite at no cost while I waited. While I don’t drink regular milk I did drink the tea because how could you not? It was really tasty and I ended up buying some to take home. I’m usually disappointed by peach black teas and you could even taste the apricot in this one.
Now, I’m having another cup of it this time made with only a tiny bit of honey and some almond milk. It’s still really tasty and vanilla-heavy with the fruitiness from the peach and apricot. I think it could even pass as a peaches and cream blend when you add a milk product to it.
Flavors: Apricot, Cream, Peach, Smooth, Stonefruit, Vanilla
Preparation
I got this in a sampler from Teeccino that included some flavors that I’ve never tried before from them. This was a new one and had a lot of chai flavor so it definitely feels more like chai tea than coffee. The spices are nice and I added some nondairy milk to it.

I thought I’d reviewed this but apparently not. Michelle sent me a couple of these teabags a while back. I remember being quite surprised at how good this tea was considering it’s I believe a grocery store brand rooibos tea and chocolate flavored. Chocolate-flavored teas are tricky to do well but this one was so dessert-y. I liked this one so much that I actually was looking online to see if I could buy a box anywhere and sadly it didn’t seem so. The rooibos in this tea isn’t stronger than the chocolate flavor. Thanks again for sending me these Michelle they were a winner!
I think HEB used to have an online store, but they closed it. But thanks for the reminder, I’ll pick up some more when I’m in Texas this week :)
@Michelle That’s a bummer but glad your gonna hopefully get to restock it in your cupboard soon.
@Cameron: Oooh, would you if you don’t mind, please if you happen to be at the store?
So I finally remembered to check and yes, my local HEB does have this! I neglected to check the price, the website claims it’s just under $2.
So let me know if you would like me to pick some up for you, and that applies to anyone reading this!
Aw that’s a shame! I made some raspberry matcha jam the other day with some Davidstea matcha – it’s fun how many things you can make with it!
That sounds really good! I never would have thought about making jam with it. I’ve made good matcha cookies before but the recipe measurements were weird for the baking ingredients with the one I found on Pinterest.
