Really enjoyed this today, it was brewed at a lower strength so the minty flavor was very enjoyable. I was just about to make a cup of this tea but when I walked into the kitchen my grandmother already had just poured her water, she just added more water, and then once our cups were almost done my grandfather wanted some so he poured some lukewarm water in…. This is the only type of tea that he will drink. So overall the brewing process was a mess, but I definitely need to try and recreate the strength of this cup because I am not a fan of mint teas and this turned out to be the perfect strength for me.

Last tea bag in the box so it’s a Sipdown.
(tasting notes after Rant):
So I seem to really enjoy licorice flavored teas if they are blended with a bunch of other spices. Another one of my favorites is Stash’s Licorice Spice tea. Unfortunately licorice can be very overpowering and for some stupid reason it’s added to fruit teas etc. and you can only taste the licorice. They also do this with lemongrass and hibiscus.
Tasting Notes: the dry teabag smells very sweet, like licorice and fennel.
The flavor is the same as the smell of the dry tea bag when brewed. This tea is great when you sick and great when your not, it’s definitely not for everyone though.

I’ve said this in other posts but This tea came from the Pukka tea Sampler on Amazon, I was really bummed that most of the ones I wanted to try that were in the photo did not come but others came instead.
I was very nervous about this tea as I abhor lemon teas but figured I’d give this one a try since it has ginger in it. I was pleasantly surprised.
Flavor: The ginger is coming through slightly stronger than the lemon but does not overpower it, the manuka honey gives it the perfect amount of sweetness. so this tea needs no additives. All of the flavors are coming through nicely for me, this tea is far from exciting but I might consider buying it for the health benefits if it was on sale. Pukka teas tend to run about nine dollars a box. For someone who wants a strong flavor this may not be the tea for you. Overall it reminds me of Lemon ginger infused water.

drank Rooibos & Honeybush by Pukka

This tea came from the Pukka tea Sampler on Amazon, I was really bummed that most of the ones I wanted to try that were in the photo did not come but others came instead…. This tea required a teaspoon of honey and a dash of soymilk for me. The honeybush is coming through more than the rooibos flavor. The sweetness of the honeybush was brought out by the honey I added ironically. This tea is not one I’d purchase as it is quite plain. I’m don’t believe I ’m getting any of the licorice flavor which was surprising since licorice root tends to be overpowering.

Flavors: Honey, Rooibos, Sweet

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more 9 OZ / 280 ML

Brewed without apple juice/or cider, it has a very soothing mellow cinnamon flavor. Also is quite sweet as is without any sweetener. Just tastes like sweet cinnamon water but as someone who doesn’t like the taste of plain water it’s a perfect alternative. I thought I remembered this having a stronger taste when I’ve made it in the past but perhaps I confused it with another tea. I personally love the taste of cinnamon and can add unlimited amounts of the spice to anything but when it comes to teas that have cinnamon oil they can be too strong for me. Overall unless your buying spice bags to mix with juice to make cider, since they are pretty spendy I’d advise you to just make your own blend of herbs to steep: citrus peels, cinnamon sticks, star anise, etc.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Sweet

Boiling 8 min or more 10 OZ / 295 ML

Have you ever mulled cocoa? I haven’t either, but suddenly it just sounded good.

drank Sakura Cherry by DAVIDsTEA

Old Tasting note:
I bought this tea never having had a cherry tea before so I was quite curious and hopeful. The smell is sickeningly strong like cherry cough syrup/artificial smelling. The taste is almost as bad, it tastes of cherry cough syrup without the SUGAR! I ended up unable to drink the cup and had to dump it. I still need to try cold brewing it as Roswell suggested.

Flavors: Artificial, Cherry

1 tsp 10 OZ / 295 ML

This tea is best as a latte. I paired it with turmeric as it goes very nicely with this tea and has great anti-inflammatory properties. I used the Gaia herbs Golden Milk Powder which is just high quality turmeric with a bit of ginger and other spices, it is quite rich. This tea is gets very fruity and strange tasting when brewed too strong(with too much tea. it does not oversteep). It is pretty delicate when brewed normally which has me wanting a little bit of a stronger flavor. I would have rated this tea higher if it wasn’t so finicky to brew. For those of you shocked that it brews up bright pinkish red it’s completely natural from the beetroot. This is also the only apple tea that I like which makes it an extra special tea.

I drink tea for many reasons: For pleasure, health benefits, mindfulness, to help with anxiety, hydration because I have always struggled with drinking plain water.
My rating system is kind of a mess and I keep telling myself I’ll fix it sometime.
