687 Tasting Notes
Since it’s snowy outside, I decided to have my first Teavivre tea of the year. Yesterday, it was with an Elizabeth Chadwick novel, and today with Stargate SG-1 (my second favourite television show). This tea reminds me so much of dark chocolate. It has that dark cocoa scent, with a little bit of malt. The flavour is a little sweet, and has the chocolate notes. Glad I got to try this, as I haven’t had any keemun in a while. Thanks to Teavivre for this sample. :)
Flavors: Cocoa, Dark Chocolate, Malt
This is a nice tea for a snowy evening in my new state. The malty scent is nice, though a little more mild now. There is still a sweet citrus flavour. Very good.
How to know you’re very into tea- making different teas in Harvest Moon (farming video game). Question- do some people really put jam in their tea?
Thanks for the sample, Tealated. It smells nice, I really like the scent of bergamot. There is a prominent creamy flavour, The vanilla really comes out. This was one I had several cups when it was snowy here. Makes a good Winter tea.
Flavors: Bergamot, Creamy, Vanilla
Ah, Winter. My excuse to drink more tea. Today was the birthday of Professor Tolkien, so I made lembas cake. It turned out well. This was my tea of choice. The flavour is nice, almonds and some cinnamon. Went well with my cake too.
The Road goes ever on and on…
While traveling, it’s much easier to have bagged teas. This is one I tried at a relative’s house. I liked how this tea smelled so nicely like spices. The flavour reminded me a bit of wassail or a similar Winter beverage. Had more while watching snow yesterday.
So, I ordered a sampler pack… and it came today. This smells pretty good, like malty chocolate. In the flavour I get more fruit, and bread… along with the cocoa. So pretty much it’s chocolate covered fruit, with plums, and some really good bread. Seems a little out of place in the Summer though, I think this is an Autumn morning tea.
Flavors: Baked Bread, Chocolate, Cocoa, Fruity, Malt
Finally got around to trying this. The smell kinda reminded me of French toast, the maple and cinnamon scents. It had a too sweet, and mild spicy flavour. There isn’t any apple that I noticed. So I ended up with a cinnamon tea instead.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Maple Syrup
Finally got around to trying this again. Might have accidentally brewed in a basket that formerly had strong black tea. This one does smell nicely like orange and chocolate at first. The flavour reminds me of citrus dark chocolates. Good tea, but for some reason the first brew turned out better. Thanks to Cheri for this sample.
Flavors: Dark Chocolate, Orange
When I first went to make this tea, I forgot it was green. Oops. So, today I decided to try it again. The is mostly green, with a little bit of spice. There is a creamy, veggie flavour. Wish I had more of this to try. Thanks to Cheri for the sample.
Flavors: Cream, Creamy, Vegetal
