This tea reminds me sooooo much of Forever Nuts. Almost like a cider-y version of it. I got it as a gift, a whole 50g packet. Can’t decide what I think of it. The first few times I loved it – it’s more tart, more cinnamon-y and more fruity than forever nuts. I find that if I steep it for barely 4 minutes, I get less hibiscus taste and more fruit.

However, I don’t think it’s something I could drink every day, it’s a bit tart and as much as I compare it to Forever Nuts.. I love Forever Nuts much more than this for my go-to tea to bring with me to cold, late night lectures.

Still lovely on a cold winter day though. Very cider-like for me. Like if Forever Nuts and Apple Cider had a sweet, twisted baby.

Basically it’s forever nuts, but slightly sweeter, a little more bitter, with more cinnamon. I found the taste to be a little too artificial for me.

EDIT: Resteeped with some added ground cinnamon and added a little Forever Nuts to the mix and… BINGO! Less hibiscus, more cider-like, and nutty <3. This will definitely help me finish the rest of this package!

This tea, to me, smells exactly like my strawberry rhubarb pie.

While my boyfriend thinks it’s disgusting to drink a desert, I find this tea delightful. I have steeped it both hot and cold.

When hot, I like to add a small shot of raw agave nectar, I find it brings out some of the strawberry flavour whereas sugar tends to bring out the beetroot in this tea.

Cold, I like to steep it hot first, to make a concentrated shot, and then add the colder water and add fresh tea leaves to continue steeping. I find this boosts the flavour a bit, as cold steeping alone left this tea a little weak for me.

I love to mix this one cold with a little bit of lemonade – really tangy and refreshing on a warm day.

Warm, this goes really well with a cold fruit flan. Brings out the fruit and contrasts with the creaminess of the flan.

This is another of my favorites. I love it plain, I love it with agave, but my favorite is this:

I add a dash of cinnamon and a hint of vanilla while steeping. I sometimes add a littttle bit of creamer if I want a thicker texture or if I’m replacing my coffee with this. It’s delightful on a snowy day, especially if I steep a pot with cinnamon and vanilla. Especially after a horrible math exam! Hahaha.

To me, on it’s own, this tea dry smells almost like black licorice, which put me off trying it for quite a while. But it does NOT taste like it at all! It does taste rich and as though cream had been added, with the typical bitter bits of earl grey seeping through. It’s a much deeper taste with different layers than your typical bagged tetely earl grey. Much more flavour and much more homey to me.

If you want to treat yourself, try it with a little cinnamon and vanilla! I use the storebought ground cinnamon and ground vanilla beans. For a pot, I use an eight of a teaspoon to a quarter teaspoon each, depending on the size of the pot. For a cup, I use a pinch of both, added to the dry tea before steeping!

I love this tea! It’s one of my all time favorites to sip while I’m in a long lecture on a snowy day. Be careful not to steep too long, or you get too much of a beetroot flavour, I find. Best with a short shot of agave <3

It tastes mostly of nuts, with a fruity undertone and the smell is heavenly and homey.

One of my winter favorites.
