I’ve come across Houjicha in a few blends, and thought I might like it. I was looking forward to trying this to see if I really do.

Tada! I do. By itself, it’s a little less exciting than when in blends. But something about this tea reminded me of brownies. It’s in the creamy, satisfying, mouth-coating ability it has. Delish.

I feel slightly bad reviewing this tea, as I have never had a sencha before and am new to tea.

But I found this tea to be actually disgusting. I had a tea the other day that was seaweed esq, but more along the dried nori and sushi vibe that was tasty. This one tasted like I had pulled raw seaweed out of the water and started nomming down.

It was strange though, because it was ALMOST pleasant to drink, but I couldn’t get past a sort of slimy bitter feeling to the tea. I actually had to pour it out and find something else to drink. So disappointing. I guess I don’t like this kind of green tea. :(

This was my first matcha proper. I added 2oz of water, and 8oz of milk. And it was yummy. Omg yum.

The caramel flavor wasn’t really a big deal though. I was hoping for a bit more pizzazz. Since this was a sample, I’m not sure how much flavoring was added, etc. But it was still tasty. I look forward to trying other matchas. :D

Yum! This tea seals it for me, on my tea journey I’m still learning what I like and don’t like. And I absolutely like green tea. Hands down, best stuff out there to my lil ole’ taste buds.

So for me, the genmaicha wasn’t as nutty as the previous blend I’d recently tried from Dens tea. The red pepper was certainly pretty! But to me, this tea was AAAAALL about the pineapple! (maybe a touch of papaya).

Very fruity in a warm but crisp way. Usually when i try fruity teas, I think they’re better cold. Almost always. Not this tea. This tea is so aromatic and flavorpacked when warm. This is an excellent tea for someone trying to replace sugary drinks with something healthier but still enjoyable. Yum yum yum.

mmmm. I haven’t tried oolong by itself yet, so I’m not very familiar with what it tastes like. So i’m useless at dissecting the flavors.

But, I really loved this tea. It was perfectly Cass. Sort of smooth, easy going, melty, pleasant. Not bad :)

Had to dump out my bag, mix it up better, and refill my bag before I made my tea. Got all settled n’stufff.

It was a pleasant tea. Nothing too amazing, though. I had hoped for more… punch. More kick. More apple pie.

The hazelnut is dreamy though. this is a blend for fans of Dean that want to imagine cuddling up to his leather jacket with him. That is to say; not the actual Dean who never gets to really ever eat his pie.

overall I just hoped for MORE. I got a lot of marigold flowers. That’s not very Dean-y.

SO YUMMY. This is, to date, my favorite tea. I practically downed it at work and wish I had a strainer to make another cup of tea (I usually fill my travelers mug up at home, and it lasts me almost all day). This is exactly what I thought it would be: Nutty, smooth, slightly nori-esq. Super easy for me to drink and enjoyable as well. This may just be my first big buy. The added matcha must have added a creaminess PLUS a little extra caffeine boost I think.

A perfect daily tea to drink without any additives. mmm

I seriously considered getting this Kettle. It had all the bells and whistles, was exactly what I needed, etc. Until I learned that the plastic “water level” on the sides of this kettle are made with poly-carbonate – not BPA free. That’s very disheartening. How hard is it to use safer alternatives? I’m not usually one to fuss about BPA, but I do avoid warming/heating plastic with it. So on a kettle that will DAILY reach 212 degrees? Too much risk for me.

Sad.

Very happy with this. I was looking for a basic electric kettle to heat up water for between one cup to four cups, so I could have a random glass of tea. Or both myself and my BF could take traveler mugs to work with tea in the morning.

With cold water, Filled to max-level, it took about 10 minutes to get to 212 (F). When I finally made a cup of tea with much less water, it took only a couple of minutes to get to 180 for me. It has a nice hold function which keeps your tea at the temp you need. As well as preset temperatures (just click the “temp” button and you rotate through the options).

And I did NOT know this when I purchased it, but after you pour your tea, you just press the + button and a timer starts up, counting down. So you can use that to watch how long your tea has been steeping. It isn’t a very useful timer for me because I want an alert to tell me my 3 minutes are over. But- it does let me know how long it steeped exactly. Helpful!

So far I really love this. It’s going to get tons of use. I was weary at first because reviews on Amazon spoke about rust. But apparently there was an old batch that wasn’t coated or treated properly that had rust issues. It seems they’ve been replacing the defective models (if you dig through amazon comments you’ll find some of these).

Perfect for what I need!

I…. just got a bonavita electric kettle, and this tea is the first tea I made using my perfectly heated water. No more thermometers in my microwaved water as I scowl at uneven water temperature.

This tea was light, flavorful, gently sweet, not bitter or grassy. A fairly perfect green tea. I LOVE rhubarb like a crazy person. But there wasn’t an overabundance of that rhubarb-pie mouth-watering love I hoped for.

Very lovely tea though. I’ll likely try out other Adagio blends that use this. :)
